Buildings have changed into white boxes

I just done the update of the game and most of my buildings have changed into white boxes..... does any-one else have the same problem ???

And how long will it take the game developers to solve this issue ??

I also have the game freeze sometimes when opening the trainstations or the competition window and have the restart the game to get in to see my progress and/or take a new task...

love this game  with greetings from the Netherlands

    Hey everyone,

I have received an update on this from our teams.

These white blocks appear because of low available RAM memory on your devices.

Removing a few buildings from your high-density cities should allow all the buildings to load up again.

The white blocks appear primarily to prevent the game from crashing when it cannot load everything due to limited available RAM memory.

The best way to prevent this from happening again is to switch to a device with more available RAM memory.

Thank you for your patience regarding this matter.

    Hey everyone,

Please try the troubleshooting steps in these guides for Android and iOS devices, including reinstalling the game.

Before you reinstall the game, make sure your progress is saved online following this guide, to avoid losing access to your city.

Let me know if these odd white boxes persist for you afterward, when they first appeared for you, and what kind of mobile device you're using to play the game.

This information might help me bring this situation to our team's attention.

SimCity BuildIt remains available in the game store despite its incompatibility with iOS devices because app stores often maintain listings for popular games to preserve user access to information, updates, and community features. The game may still be supported on other platforms, such as Android, or older iOS versions, and the listing allows existing users to reinstall or update the game if their device supports it. Additionally, developers might be working on updates to restore compatibility or provide alternative versions. Removing the game entirely could disrupt the user base and diminish the game's visibility, so stores often keep such apps accessible while compatibility issues are addressed or until a formal discontinuation is announced.
Because a game is listed in the store doesn’t guarantee compatibility.

  • Same issue, white boxes, on my Ipad9 after the last updating. But not on my Iphone 15 !

Then why do they say in the App Store that my iPad is compatible with the game?

  • Yes, just opened the app on my iPad and in the capital city, most of the buildings and structures are white boxes.  The other regions are fine.  And, no issue on my iPad mini with my feeder city.

Update: White boxes appeared on my mini iPad this morning.  I’m thinking it’s analogous to the pink pixel issue.

  • what happened???  do you also have most of you houses and buildings appear as white boxes ??

  • EA games often discontinue support for older devices with each update due to several factors. As technology advances, newer game features and graphics require more powerful hardware to function effectively. Maintaining compatibility with outdated devices can hinder the overall performance and user experience, leading to potential issues such as bugs and crashes. Additionally, focusing on modern platforms allows developers to optimize their games for the latest advancements in gaming technology, ensuring that players receive the best possible experience. This strategic decision ultimately helps EA allocate resources more efficiently, enabling them to innovate and enhance their offerings for the majority of their user base.
