Just read that the total cost to upgrade santas airport is 750500 seasonal coin. Said it before will  say it again F##K THAT

May I ask where you read that?

They only earn you coins when building or upgrading them - the amount earned is not worth the effort f2aj5m0efycy​

Santa’s Airport costs - yes for real

Quite honestly, they are just ugly period. I didn't think I'd hate anything more than the art nouveau houses, but here we are. 

I’m disappointed and a bit angry that I’ve been working hard to upgrade Santa’s Airport enough to see Santa fly in, but with only 5 or so days left in the season, I now see that it’s just impossible. I’ve earned all the Mayors Pass frosty coins, paid U.S. dollars for the mayors pass and the 50% frosty coin booster and bought additional frosty coin at $2.99 for each 5,000 frosty. I’ve spent all the SimCash I’m allowed to spend on frosty coins, and I’m only on level 8 of 12 at the airport. I don’t know how many more frosty coins might be needed to upgrade 4 more levels, but based on the prior upgrade amounts it might be 300,000. The game is limiting me from even spending enough of the money that really matters to buy more frosty coins. Santa will not be flying into my town.

im curious if anyone has fully upgraded the airport? I’m also curious, are the game devs not doing math or are they just cruel?

 I’ve been playing SimCity for 20 years, I have weathered a lot of snafus in development during all this time but I have never been this disappointed by it. I feel like I’ve been suckered.

20 years?  The game just had its 11th anniversary. It’s only existed for 11 years 

Maybe this version of SimCity has been around for 11 years? I’m not sure what the 11 years marks but I’ve been definitely been playing SimCity longer than that. I’d buy it on CD. I miss some of things from the early versions, like the single square (the land was laid out on a grid) bus stations. You could build bridges where you wanted them. And the Sims would spontaneously throw a parade for you if they were happy. I liked some of the older music, too.

But at what cost?

I think it is a real shame that you, EA, went to all the trouble of designing a beautiful set of buildings and items and then the gameplay made it impossible to collect them all. 

I'm a teacher and was on holiday for this beautiful season so I decided to splash out for once. I bought the Premium Plus Pass and both seasonal currency boosts as I could see these would be essential to help upgrade Santa's Airport to lvl 12. The currency exchange was pitifully low value, so I decided to use Cosy Homes upgrades to earn currency. With over 800 Frosty coins for each Cosy Home upgraded to level 4, this was much better value per seasonal item. It was expensive using other items, so I spent 2.5 million simoleons making 182 Cosy Homes... about 700 upgrades! I played hours and hours every day. I also used over 25 llama and cheetah speed tokens to keep seasonal items topped up. I also spent 1500 simcash buying Frosty Coins. This got me to Santa's Airport lvl 11 and enough to buy Giant Santa to complete the collection with the only excellent reward of 172,000 Frosty coins. Just 19,000 short of the 191,000 needed for Santa's Airport level 12 which was also covered by the building upgrades. In short a massive amount of effort.

I am very happy to have achieved Santa's Airport level 12 and watch Santa take off and visit all the Cosy Homes in my Frosty Fjords. It looks amazing.

However, this took a phenomenal amount of effort plus real money paid and game currencies, so I am disappointed that I could not afford to buy the other wonderful seasonal buildings.

Plus I think Santa's Express was badly advertised... it looked more like a station than a train. I would definitely have bought that but there is just no way of upgrading another 38 Cosy Homes to level 4 to raise 30,000 Frosty coins in time for the end of season. Back to work tomorrow so game time is massively reduced. 

Your seasons have become increasingly more complicated and difficult to achieve. I've spent a massive amount of real money over 9 years on Mayor's Passes every season. I won't be buying the Premium Plus Pass again, and I won't be buying the currency boosters again. I even feel like leaving the game. I think with the amount of effort and money spent, I should have been able to easily afford all the buildings you so carefully designed for this season.

Nobody else in my club came close to Santa's Airport level 12. Please try to improve the enjoyment in gameplay. It was much better a couple of years ago.
