Extreme lag / connection issues

Ever since the addition of the mass transit the game is now at a "unplayable" point.

I recently signed into EA to save the city as a backup as I was just running off my phone before and never had a need. Only been playing since Jan/Dec, so about 5 months.

Tried clearing cache, then deleting and re-installing game (android) and it didnt improve connection issues.

5G+ so internet is not an issue, clearly its connection problems.

"Server is unreachable", "playing in offline mode", wait times are roughly 1-2 mins just to load train, likewise with the standard dailies or whatever their called. Loading into the game gives a "connecting to server" message that takes a while to load..

Upon re-downloading my city, it failed about 5 times with me pressing retry every time until it finally logged back in.

Id assume its either maintenance or just an overload of users on their side.
