Feature Request — Native Apple Vision Pro Support

I've been playing SimCity BuildIt for many years now, and honestly it's become more than just a game to me — it's the city I've built piece by piece over time, and checking in on it has become a personal, relaxing ritual.

I'd love to see EA bring native visionOS support to SimCity BuildIt for Apple Vision Pro. Right now the game only runs in compatibility mode on the device (basically a flat iPad window floating in space), which doesn't take advantage of what spatial computing can actually offer.

What I'd hope for in a native version:

  • A spatial/immersive view where you can look around your city from a more grounded, "standing in it" perspective, not just top-down
  • Hand-tracking support for placing and rearranging buildings directly
  • Ability to walk through/zoom into neighborhoods in 3D rather than just pinch-zooming on a flat map

Apple Arcade's Cityscapes: Sim Builder has already shown this kind of spatial city-building works well on Vision Pro. Given how many long-time SimCity BuildIt players have put years into their cities, I think there'd genuinely be interest in experiencing that same city in a more immersive way.

Would love to hear if others feel the same, and hopefully this reaches someone at EA who can consider it for a future update.

  • Unfortunately it will not happen. There is not enough demand for this feature. Less than 0.01% (less than 1 in 10000 people) own an Apple Vision device. As well, EA has major issues with programming this game to work correctly with Apple devices. It is not currently fully compatible with iOS. Maybe an all new immersive city building game will be released one day but I wouldn’t count on this feature from EA. Simcity Buildit is a dying game that is over a decade old, is filled with glitches, and has been monetized to the max with micro transactions to increase EA’s profit. EA’s focus isn’t on making the game better, it is about what will bring the most profit. Spending a huge amount of money to program the game for a device that so few people own is unrealistic.

The ability to drive around and view your city from that perspective has been asked for many times over the last 10 years and it cannot be done.
