Hi guys and gals. I am looking at this forum and another forum and i can clearly tell there is an issue with the OMEGA update. I'll start by saying i do like. I'm a fan of new buildings, i think the mall is a benefit and after already kiting a large section of my map in streetcars, I'm happy that i will have something else to progress on with. Now it does seem that i may be in the small majority of players that actually feel like this. So i want to lay down how i feel OMEGA should be tackled. First off my stats. I'm level 54, population 1.7 mill, tax income 25k, 320 slots and have 3 expansions left, not including mountains and beach. So from what i've seen of most mayors this is a pretty decent level to be at and in my mind, why most people are having issues with OMEGA. From what i understand, it comes in at level 30. If i was to rewind to that stage, my income wouldn't be anywhere near what it is at the moment and I'd obviously have a big deal of space issue. I've managed to get a really decent area covered with Tokyo, Paris and London buildings. From my perspective if you are starting this with a much lower income, or population space then you are already setting yourself back from other players who have the ability to constantly produce OMEGA items, who can rearrange their city to accommodate more buildings and those that seriously put probably to much time into the game. Generally a time issue will fix most problems with the OMEGA update. Keep playing the game, be patient and tackle it when you have a better ability too. It's like the Epic projects, I couldn't do them without the income i have to constantly buy things from the market or a decent item space. Good Luck.

Imho greedy ea have ruined the game with the omega stuff. I have about 1.4m sims in my city, i decided to get involved with omega buildings and these are the reasons i will probably throw in the towel and delete the game from my phone.1) the omega update is a completely separate game within a game which kind of renders the original game useless and untouched 2) the omega items are ridiculously expensive 3) the mall where you can buy these items is full of expensive rubbish that you dont want and maybe one or two overpriced omega items that 9 times out of 10 you dont need4) you end up filling your omega storage with like 10 of 1 particular item and hardly ever have the right combination of items to upgrade buildings before you fill your storage, but then you're stuck because YOU CAN'T SELL THESE ITEMS and you can't upgrade the storage because of course you never have the right combination of items for that either.5) i got offered ONCE to buy an omega item by the game and i was offered about 100 neosimoleans for an item that would have cost me 2000-4000 in the mall. I mean seriously wtaf?6) when you make new omega items in the labs you only get a very small percentage of omega items plus a load of items u don't want, which you then can't sell because the global trade thing is like a ghost town now and you have to wait for the bot to buy them.I spend WAY less time playing this game now simply because i go in the game, i see i don't have the omega items i need, the stupid mall doesn't have the items i need, so i just request new plans for all the omega buildings and quit the game again, rinse and repeat.This is a cynical greedy attempt by ea to get people to spend real money which im not falling for....like all the other cynical greedy attempts in the past - like suddenly moving the goalposts with road upgrades for example, and on top of that the constant spam in the game to watch videos (so so lame), etc.If you want to know how to do this properly ea, look at how supercell do it, as for me im deleting this game which i have been happily playing for over a year because it's obviously just going to get worse as has been the trend the whole time I've been playing.

I've already done that, and now I have no more real estate available until I unlock the rest of the area of my map....which will take years thanks to exponentially rising amounts of dozer components I need to collect. I could demolish parts of my city, but no thanks - what's the point, I'm done with the game. I have since had another offer to buy an omega item - in my omega storage I have 10 x 1 particular item, 9 x another item, then 1 x various other items, totalling 25 items. I have never had an offer to buy one of the items that I have 10 or 9 of, otherwise I would have taken the ridiculous 100 neosim offer just to get rid of one of them, I've only had offers to buy the valuable single items I have. In the mall i only ever get items that I don't want/need, not that it matters as my storage is full. I can't upgrade my storage because I don't have the right combination of items. I can't upgrade my bank for the same reason. I continually ask for new plans on my omega buildings but never get a combination that I have. Check mate. Game deleted. Well done EA you greedy ****s

I appreciate how the OMEGA ecosystem basically relies upon it's own unique buildings & infrastructure to build, grow, and sustain its population. That's nice. On the other hand, the "cost of living" for these structure is re-dic-ulous. When you buy any other Service structure (i.e.: Fire, Police, Water, Power, etc.) the cost remains the same for each subsequent building needed by the city. For some insane reason, the OMEGA services increase in cost. Why? I might not gripe if the increase was marginal, but it's not. ... Almost 10k NeoSimoleons per new building in some cases. If the increasingly expensive buildings offered additional service functionality, well, that might be understandable, however the services provided remain the same despite the price increase. I think someone has made a mistake on the development of the new update because there is just no way this is a good idea. What world do they live in where you, let's say, visit the grocery store and the cost of duplicate items increases the more you buy? There's not any operational costs to factor in as there are with previous SimCity games so why this punch in the gut, SimCity BuildIt devs? Bottom line [for me], the OMEGA update was very exciting and warmly welcomed into my city, however having spent some time and getting to know it more personally, I no longer look forward to replacing my "outdated" Services (Power, Water, Sewage, Waste) nor supporting this highly expensive OMEGA Corp. much further down the road do to excessive costs of business.

I have a level 52 city with 10 neighborhoods/blocks (16 residences per block) with all potential expansion areas accounted for. I have an 11th block dedicated to factory and commercial buildings and an erea. I have an average 1.6 M sims living in my city which provide an average 24k daily income. (*I still hold fast to the need for daily Income to stack - for those times when you don't tend to your city on a daily basis... That's my city's money & IT WANTS IT!!)

I appreciate how the OMEGA ecosystem basically relies upon it's own unique buildings & infrastructure to build, grow, and sustain its population. That's nice.

On the other hand, the "cost of living" for these structure is re-dic-ulous. When you buy any other Service structure (i.e.: Fire, Police, Water, Power, etc.) the cost remains the same for each subsequent building needed by the city. For some insane reason, the OMEGA services increase in cost. Why? I might not gripe if the increase was marginal, but it's not. ... Almost 10k NeoSimoleons per new building in some cases. If the increasingly expensive buildings offered additional service functionality, well, that might be understandable, however the services provided remain the same despite the price increase.

This does seem to be an issue with many players and as much as i try not to let it get to me, i can say that i don't think it is a good way have a game.

It's been introduced with Epic buildings and with the max manor building too.

I've come to think that i won't be building consecutive buildings for this reason alone. It would also take someone a very large space to accumulate enough neosims to achieve this increasing cost too.

Well, I see this as a way the game allows you to spend your accumulated wealth. With your statistics you probably already close to the point where you do not need to spend or produce anymore -- here comes a possibility of the omega-upgrade to consume some of your excesses and actually make you hustle a bit. So it is not about logic or realistic application, just a way for us, fat-old-money-players, get something fresh and new 😉

The problem is you can't USE the simoleons from the "regular" part of the game. This addition is like a game in it's own. With really weird rules....

I'm glad to see others embracing the Omega adventure. I have quit the COM and epic challenges and have devoted the last couple of weeks to Omegaville. But this part of the game has more quirks than can be listed here. Here's my slice of it:

1. 26 Omega buildings-22 maxed out upgrade-wise

2. 3 small ControlNet Towers

3. 5 small Drone Bases and 1 Basic Drone Base

4. 3 Omega Labs

5. Storage upgraded to 30

6. NeoBank upgraded to 13,000

7. Level 68 2.8 million sims

To afford the 7000 per canister cost of omega items, I produce products round the clock. I have been able to maintain my level of simoleans throughout my participation in Omegaville and afford everything listed above

To work around the capacity limitation with storage and the neobank is a definite challenge. Especially after you have upgraded a few times and find that your next level of drone upgrade exceeds your Neobank capacity by 200%. Same with the ControlNet. Right now for me to purchase a 4th ControlNet small tower is 32,400 neosimoleans. Considering my capacity in the bank is 13,000, how may pieces would be needed to upgrade that many times? It is actually quite easy to fill up your storage with 30 pieces, which makes maneuvering around difficult. And the NeoMall, although helpful at times, rarely has more than 2 omega pieces available at one time.

When I find I'm out of storage, upgrading a property is a great way to reduce inventory. The last upgrade usually requires 9 to 11 pieces, but then you end up with not enough variety to complete any other upgrades right then. Another tool I have used to bail myself out is the 100 neocash purchase of the one item you need to upgrade. I buy on the fly and usually only to make the final upgrade

All in all, I like the Omega thing. Its new, different, challenging and all of the other things that allow us to justify our masochistic tendencies...

I've been managing to consistently upgrade my builds while still just having the 25 slots available for storage, although now i have 3 buildings waiting to upgrade to max so it is difficult waiting for the right combination of items.

I'm getting to the stage of just buying things to actually lower my neosims

The only way to out maneuver the Omega storage buildup by a significant measure will be to increase it up to at least 70. That would require 11 units of the resources required. The main problem with increasing the storage is that for each successive iteration the resources required change. The random system of processing the materials is amusing as usual but they should add few more slots at the research lab or the ability to build new ones. I'm currently at 35 and have taken a leave from the Omega part for a while for building up my 'old' storage.

I hope you get to 70 in the next month. With your level it shouldn't take much long.

At this point I have figured out the NeoBank is more of a priority to upgrade considering that the least expensive ControlNet & Drone available to me are 15,000 each. I did manage to increase capacity yesterday to 16,000 and then realized than the bigger Drone base costs 16,200.

Woah that is cruel. I too noticed it just now, the 9 capacity drone base costs 16200 for me too. Goodbye Omegaville...

By the way, how much will the bank expand from 16000 to? 19000? Asking because the largest drone base costs 21000, seems saving for that one should be the right choice now..

to go from 16000 to 19000 requires 5 each of the . Its probably different for each person but its asking for 4D printers, projectors and jet packs
