PinnacleValley:
I've read several posts you submitted, and sometimes we already answered each others in other threads. While with different opinions, you never called someone a "total idiot" or a d-bag just because he was telling things far away from your thoughts. And that's fine.
I don't care if my interlocutor is General Swhartzkpof, rather than Ghandi, rather than Einstein, rather than the fool on the hill. He's a human, just like me. I don't need to list my pedigree. I don't need to know who got a bigger IQ or a bigger someother thing. And I don't need to gain the respect from people not respectful.
We're not talking about philosophy, global pollution or world peace, it's about a game.
So let's talk about the game.
I am a competitor too. My favorite soccer team is Juventus FC, which motto is "winning is not important, is the only thing that counts!". My club is a competitive one, and we like wars where both clubs keep shooting like there's no tomorrow.
I don't like the dome strategy. My club don't like the dome strategy. I'll be the first to be glad if EA adjust it somehow. IMO they won't. For a lot of reasons. For example: How many players wrote in this forum complaining about it? A lot, sure, but far less than 0,1% of people playing SCB. Is it enough? Surely not. Other example: there's only a global server, with clubs from the whole world. Every solution I've read about doing "timed" domes would be good with continental-dedicated servers, but with such different timezones in a single server, it would become unfair: having to go at work, or to sleep would mean loosing a war. So if 100 players until now wrote here complaining about actual dome (100? not counted, but probably they're no more than 50), how many players would write complaining about new domes? Many, many more. It would be easier to totaly change the war system rather than to simply change the dome-mechanism.
Now, about calling coward who domes, let me explain why I disagree, even if I'm not a domer and I hate playing vs. domers.
First I'm not english motherlanguage, so maybe it could be a misinterpretation, but in my motherlanguage calling someone coward is one of the worst ways to insult him.
Second, as told before, it's a legit strategy. Noisy, but legit. Is it more important winning wars and rewards or doing chests? IMO winning wars. If a club wins with the dome, you can call him coward all day long, but he won simcash, war simoleons, keys, AND chests. And ranking points. So, at the end, cowards or not cowards, they just did better.
Assumed that EA won't change that, wouldn't be better to just find a way to avoid it?
Since war has been introduced (last october) my club has been starting a war every 3 days. So, let's say 50 weeks since the beginning, let's say 2 wars weekly, it results we fought at least 100 wars.
We met strong clubs, weak ones, cheater ones, we won, we lost, and now we're in arena 4, but no more than 5-6 wars had the dome-strategy problem, most of all in the first period, when we was learning how to fight. In the last 6 months it happened just one time.
So, I can be the fool on the hill, in a club of idiots, as I can't pilot a Space Shuttle. So I'm not trying to teach anything to anyone. I just want to share what has been my experience and why IMO my club so rarely had this problem.
So simple that seems stupid: just don't let your opposite club gain an advantage bigger enough to let your club dome them all. Easier to say than to do, but it's simple math. Even when loosing, you and your teammates gotta keep attacking to avoid that "ending" gap. It needs a club active, always ready to keep that gap closed. Not always easy, but not impossible.
Best regards.
