POWER

i put windmills and it doesn't give my sims power. I also tried putting a couple beside each other and it still didn't give off power. The same with water. Does anyone know how to r solve this? If not I'm going to stop playing because none of my sims are happy and I can't figure out the issue

Check that roads exist connecting the residences with the power and water sources. Apparently pipes and power lines go with the roads.

Are we talking about the same game? Simcity build it for iPad. There is no option to apply power lines or pipes

I even blew all my money on upgrading roads and it didn't help

I can create the same problem if there is no road connecting the roads with sources to the roads with residences.

I took screen shots but can't put them in the reply box. All my houses are connected by roads and all the windmills and water towers are connected to roads. I have several together and it's still not working. I've eben upgraded roads and still not working.

Okay, you have houses connected to roads, and you have utilities connected to roads.  Are THOSE roads connected to each other?  Meaning, would a car starting from your "powerless" residence be able to drive to your windmill without going off road? If not, you need to build roads so that a car could conceivably drive from the windmills to every residence you have if it wanted to.

Yes all roads are connected. I think I have figured it out. I bought the more expensive power source and it seemed to help a little. Only gave a few houses power but I'm on the right path lol.

In regard to your earlier question, power lines and pipes for water are built into the roads -- unlike other Sim City games, there is no need to build these separately.  As long as roads connect the power plants to the neighborhoods, the power is supposed to flow.  (Same for water and other services.)  One thing that can happen is if you demo a road and build a new one, sometimes the power plant or well won't reconnect to the new road.  It is supposed to happen automatically, but if you suspect this is the problem, just move the power and water sources around and then put them back again and they will make that automatic connection.  Of course, you also need to make sure you have enough power plants, wells, etc for the number of residences you have.

Its sounds like you've expanded 'out' instead of expanding 'up'. Each power, water, sewage, and trash services a certain number of residences, regardless of how much each has been upgraded. So upgrading existing residences instead of building new ones can boost your population faster without having to expand your services to serve a greater number of residential tiles.
