About skate culture from a player, who was indifferent before the game launched
When I took the survey (a veeeery long one, by the way), one of the sections focused on skate culture; back then I said I didn’t really care, but after the game hooked me, I got into what’s going on in skateboarding today and changed my mind.
- I’d really love to see story arcs featuring real skaters or influencers—people like TheSkateNomad, Thrasher regulars, and Olympic competitors.
- To see the Dime Glory Challenge with difficulty increasing each attempt (it’s so easy to implement in-game that I’m shocked the only thing we have right now is a community park).
- Tighter, more grounded challenges that feel closer to real skating, without the crazy speed.
- The ability to apply famous skaters’ autographs and place iconic graffiti via a drop-menu, and it’d be great to have them as deck stickers too.
Video and photography are a crucial part of skate culture, and I would love to see this aspect more reflected in the game. Starting with expanded tools for video replay and photo mode that match modern standards, and extending to video-photo challenges and weekly "cover" contests and similar content directly within the game, not just somewhere on social media. - I have a feeling that the skater communication style is currently reflected only in one mission branch—where they teach you manuals and advanced tricks. Vee doesn’t fit the vibe at all, to the point that I had to mute her.
