Board Fails to Spawn When Pressing Y (Common in Skydive)

Loving the game so far but starting to get annoyed. When attempting to get on my board by pressing Y, the board often fails to appear. The character acknowledges the input with a small body movement, but no board spawns. This issue seems most common when skydiving, though it may happen in other situations. Im on xbox series s, happens maybe 20 percent of the time especially on the jump off the building to the next building with the big bowl on top to the parking garage. Also not sure if this is a bug or just messed up game mechanics but when trying to do challenges with manuals you pull the stick exactly where you need to but it likes to do other tricks instead of a manual, very infuriating and hope to see this game fixed
