Double Trouble Challenge

Is it just me or is this challenge wildly inconsistent? I cant even get my dude to ollie off the first ramp to initiate the first flip not to mention it doesnt register the grabs in so many instances. I get that it is supposed to be difficult and it is but what it actually recognises most of the time isnt consistent.
