Major connection issues, I just want to play!!!

Ive been having a fun time playing the game, racked up a decent few hours over the past few days. I tried playing after the most recent patch and keep getting the same error code saying I can't join, I tried doing all the different troubleshooting options with turning the router off and on, restarting my system, I tried doing the DNS stuff but I couldnt connect to the internet at all when I tried that. I feel really stuck and I dont know if ive done something or if it has to do with a patch. would love some advice.
