my thoughts about the Skate-o-ween event
I went in with no expectations and got to say, it's a pretty fun event so far. The parks look good and skate nice — except for Market Mile, I’m not really a fan of that one.
The challenges are cool and short, but I’m still not feeling the slam ones. It’s basically just “slam into this 5 times,” “slam into that 4 times,” on repeat. Gets kinda repetitive.
The event length feels a bit weird too — 3 to 4 weeks sounds long. You could easily push more content in less time and nobody would complain. Three challenges per week is just a bit dry, and then another three for the seasonal currency... it kinda feels like it’s been split in half just to stretch it out.
Outside the community parks there’s barely anything that even shows there’s an event going on.
Some of the tasks are fun though, like the “Reach 666 points in a sequence with a Boned Ollie” one — that one fits the theme perfectly. But then you get “Do 15 Hippy Jumps,” and it’s just like… alright, I’ll spam them real quick and move on. Could also do "Do 1 Hippy Jump" and it's the same effect.
The task reward is great though — really fits the event and honestly feels like the first time an item has been given out like that.
Also, the free mask is super detailed and unique in its shape — honestly looks better than a lot of shop stuff. I just don’t get why other apparel can’t be like that, especially when we’re paying prices as if they were unique.
Would really love to see more actual item rewards in the future — something that rewards players for playing, not just spending money. I also kinda wish events were shorter but more intense, if that makes sense.
