Overall like the game, but improve momentum of transition skating .
I have played about 15 hours and I think it's a pretty fun experience. Im no avid skater, but so have bit of interest in it and was looking very forward to this game coming out. Initially I was disappointed, but got caught up in the hate wagon that's all online. However, I think the core skating feels really good, and it's easy to get lost in a line you have found. I think some of the areas are really good and conducive to making up skate lines. The cartoon style is kind of growing on me, and I think a lot of thought has gone into creating a fun environment to skate around in.
My main criticism is the half pipe skating,'transitions' (not a huge skater). It feels like there is no middle between skating in a really over the top unrealistic style and more realistic way. You either gets loads of speed, or lose speed fast if you want to skate more realistic on the half pipes. It's hard to get momentum and 'flow' like it is with grind lines in a half pipe park for example, as you seem to lose speed too fast if you want to skate semi realistic. If they could improve the flow on the transition skating I think it would be big improvement as at the moment I feel like there isn't much point in skating in these really cool skateparks if you can't really tie in multiple tricks together.
I actually have quite like the tutorials and found the advanced grind tutorial quite helpful.
I was also looking really forward to the bone breaking mechanic. I think the way you rag doll ATM is stylish and satisfying, but it would be better if there was optional way you could introduce bone breaking and maybe have the option of turning that on or off,. With some games to go with it. And other multiplayer games from the other instalments like s.k.a.t.e.
