I couldn't help but notice how close of a resemblance our characters have. And yes, these new visual changes have drastically changed our characters look for the worst. Take mine for example...
I am hoping that they can reverse the changes asap
I think the new faces look much, much better: the completely clean, complexion free models of yore looked like Sims characters; like they were made of play dough, which is completely unrealistic. Even now, there is work to be done to get them looking more realistic and less like cartoons. But, at least we’re heading in the right direction.
What the devs should do instead is implement a slider system for colouration around eyes, cheeks, ears, etc. That way, you can create fresh faced characters without forcing everyone else to do likewise.

The new faces do look quite nice! I realized that I liked both styles, but the new one's are very pretty up close. I suppose my computer absolutely butchers them in-game, though the appearance menu does have boutique lighting comparatively (seen with the presence of the forehead shadow).
Admittedly, the second pic is taken in low light, and I prioritize FPS over quality when just skating around, but the third, in-light pic looks very nice.
Now I'm convinced it's the conjunctivitis ruining the color theory in low light in my particular case, though considering it's not present in our fellow replier's screenshots, I fear it's a hardware issue on my part. I know AMD cards (as I have) can show some differences to Nvidia cards (such as purple glass in some games, as I've experienced), but I'm not versed at all in hardware technicality, so it could definitely be a variety of other limiting factors.
