The game should get more grimey overtime

I think the entire community can agree the vibe isnt the same anymore. skating in a city built for skating (at least lore-wise) dismantles the skating culture that the games put on display with its first three issues. As the seasons go on, the game should get more grimey like the old games. have impervitek wear off or go out of business, parts of the city should "restrict" skaters (only lore-wise, maybe 1.5x points for gameplay sake) or npcs start to hate having the skaters in their city (for all the crazy stuff the players are doing), make the soundtrack more reminiscent of the older titles with modern ties (eg: hardcore(choking victim), slam(gutteral slug), skramz (knumears),  boom bap(Griseldia), cloud rap(6 dogs), plugg (Izaya Tiji), emo(pierce the veil, so surprised it wasnt in the game tbh), alt rock, etc)

it would add the the atmosphere so much to begin to see this perfect skater world where no one cares about 4+ skaters flying by you doing frontflips and fastplants reflect our own were passing by someone too fast on board could have cops called on you.

  • Port Carverton was built for skaters in skate 3. this game is continuing with that idea but making it San Van again though is San Vansterdam instead of San Vanelona. impervatech unfortunately is more to reduce age rating than anything else. it allows them to not show bones breaking and blood in the game.

Im pretty sure it will! this new lighting is already going to add a grimier feel to the game just by that tiny snippet. and from what i've noticed more and more spots are getting graffiti as the days go by etc. can imagine it'll be nice and scratched up soon enough, it's a brand new city after all!

That would be a legendary tactic, im sure they're getting a lot of feedback on how unserious the game looks right now and the vibe that is so off it's nearly cringe. But imagine, Brand new city that gets more grimey over time and u as a player get to live through it, first this would make everyone satisfied, second it would feel huge, like og fortnite events or WoW updates, or just general stuff like that, if they care for that game to be great not just profitable, i think that's the strategy they should be aiming for.

I actually completely forgot about that in skate 3 but tbh i meant like no-skate/mongocorp areas from the first two, it just added to the atmoshpere so much imo. with impervatek i think its more for sales reasons to make it more marketable to younger aduiences and their parents because all of the games are rated T by the esrb. granted its not a international rating and some countries may very but at least domestically they are completely valid to keep the same levels of harm they had in past titles. also im more than willing to bet hall of meat WILL be making a return and its a staple to the thrasher identity which their branded content is still featured in the game as well.

definitely. the ball is in their court to rip the corporate sheen off the game in time we just have to wait to see how it pans out. i have a feeling that when we get new areas the city will start to hate us more. i think its obvious season one wil introduce brickswich but i hope season 2 introduces the town across the bridge and maybe with the story more taking place over there, thats when San Vann gets sick of skaters with them liking how majority of skaters (especially the ones who go all out) aren't wiping out on every street corner seeing it as some kind of peace before a season 3 takes us back to the city with it all mcorp'd out
