They're pushing the game into an early grave

I was somewhat of accepting of the corporate greed, until now.

Lowering the currency rewards on the daily missions to pretty much nothing... along with the event currency only reseting weekly. The urge to hop on daily does't exist anymore. These issues wouldn't be too bad if the game had anything else to it.. but it doesn't.

The map is boring and lacks character. It's also very very small. A few days of hitting the daily challenges and you've experienced the full map... but until now, i was happy doing the daily challenges because it rewarded a decent amount of currency.

All rewards come from currency... why not have a challenge system with 150+ challenges that all reward a decent cosmetic? Pretty unique challenges such as "skate into 15 pedestrians wearing red shirts" or "skate 15 different blue rails across the map" But the next challenge doesn't unlock until you've completed another. Similar to the RDR2 challenge system.

Or collectibles that reset weekly/monthly. This would give an incentive to actually skate the entire map outside of challenges. Repeatedly too, not just 1 time around. "Collect 100 bearings hidden around the map to unlock exclusive VANS skater pack" for example.

I understand that paywalls = income. Simply charge for the game and people will still buy it. And you'd still make money! I understand that fornite set a precedent for microtransactions being successful. It works for a pvp game where the experience is in the online experience and every 30 minutes the game resets and is just as fun. But this doesn't work for a freeroam sport themed game.

On top of these ideas, a paid £5 dlc that unlocks some cool boards or cosmetics is something i'd still happily go for.

As for right now, I see how unhappy the player base is and that this game will soon be taken offline and be unplayable. This is the sole reason that outside of the founders pack I refuse to spend money for cosmetics I like, because the game is ONLINE only at some point in the near future all my hard-earnt and spent money will result in nothing. Which is assume is the mindset of other players too.

I agree. Plus the fact they patch bugs that actually make the game fun is so **bleep**.

I'm still trying to figure out why, instead of making a PAID full release sequel, (which all the fans were asking for)... They decided to try and reinvent the wheel with this nonsense, free to play model...

Nobody wanted this... And it's going to end up being the death of the franchise...

  • GO BACK AND TAKE LESSONS FROM THE 1st SKATE!!! Your clothing situation is HORRIBLE.  Where the brands at? Im a man who does not want a dress, rainbow socks, or dumb stickers that look like they where made for 5yr olds.  Vee talks way too much, and i only enjoy about 3% of your music.

the entire game has zero reward for playing. Every video game should have clear intensives for playing, like you defeat another player in a contest, or you overcome a difficult level or challenge and see improvement and you can unlock some form of progression. Skate. has none of that. The entire game is built around opening loot boxes with absolutely zero reason to open them. The rarity of the clothing has zero meaning when you can just get them from opening the box a certain number of times and there are no duplicates. Every clothing item is also just a recolor of another one, even the branded ones are just the same model with a brand slapped onto it.  The "challenges" are not hard at all, most of them take like 40 seconds to a minute to finish tops. And doing them does nothing, even getting the neighborhoods to "max level" do nothing, rip score ultimately does nothing besides unlocking profile banners and titles, that nobody even pays attention to half the time.  The game is built on a 2010 facebook flash game formula where it's essentially a time killer with no purpose other than to unlock cosmetic items and waste time. It's sad.

  • i think most of us enjoy the gameplay and also care enough to comment plus voice out our concerns.
they have posted a survey recently, they have gathered and probably still gathering feedback aside from the forums.
we all pretty much are saying the same things and giving hundreds of suggestions along the way.
will they listen and do something about it? only time can tell.

I've filled about 5 of these surveys they've conducted since pre pre alpha. We all complained back then. And they don't seem to listen. And I don't have faith EA will pivot when the game is nearly dead. They will just shut it down :( I really hope I'm wrong. I want this game to good so bad.
