Battlefront 2 error code 216

I just bought the game and cant play a single game in most interesting online mods such as Galaxy Wars. Then i tried to connect every time i have the error code 216. I've tried all solutions from previous topics such as router reboot, starting game as administrator, and this solution with joining in arcade mode before online didnt works in may way as well. Should i make a refund? I dont wont to pay for unplayable game, as AVGN once says: "...so what is the most important part of any game? well, i guess its possibility to play it!..."

  • Do you have a 4g device at home that you could try as temp network device and see if you get the same error code.  Also make sure that its not connected to the wifi. @McMurphy2

  • Hey there, I was experiencing the 216 error as well up until today. I found an interesting work around that I think you should try before giving up.

I followed all of the suggested solutions on this site before giving this a shot: Launch a single player match and finish it. For this, I used the battle scenario things. After I completed a match of those, I was able to connect online just fine.

  • Hey, recently I've bought a PC and started playing BF2 on this platform as well.

It runs without any problems, yet I'm facing a weird situation. If I start up the game and try to get into multiplayer immediately, I get the 216 error code as if something is wrong with my network. I assure you, it isn't - every other game is working perfectly, and what's more interesting is that jumping into a round of Arcade scenario simply fixes it. I do that, go back to Multiplayer, and that's it.

Could you look into this? I mean I'm happy that I can at least play, but this workaround gets old quite quickly.

  • Okay, so I see that you've moved my comment (which was a separate thread) to an existing one - that's fine.

What's not fine is that you've moved it to a "solved" one where the "solution" is actually the problem I was posting about. I don't want to play Arcade every time I open the game...

  • So, yesterday was the first time i played Battlefront 2, I played the first 5-6 hours perfectly, no errors whatsoever. Then, right after I changed some graphics settings (unrelated, I know, I just retell the events in all details), this errors popped up when I tried to join a match. Thankfully, I was able to find a "solution". A user said that this issue can be bypassed by playing some arcade before joining a multiplayer match. It worked, I played the rest of the evening just fine. But today, I am unable to play at all, the "solution" just stopped working for some unknowable reason. Now every multiplayer gamemode I try to play has this error, and it doesn't go away no matter how many times I try.
Taking all this into account, I don't see how this problem might be on my end. I didn't change anything during these 24 hours.

Thanks ALOT for reading what I've written in my post. I explicitly stated that the "solution" DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. IT STOPPED WORKING.

On the side note, I've figured out that the German ping site is the issue, I can connect to the American ping sites just fine. The thing is - I can't play on them because of horrendous lags.

  • I'm having trouble connecting to a match with friends. I happen to be the only person who gets kicked. My internet is flawless; I've ran all tests. Please look into this EA. I would very much like to give you my money, but can't.

    Hello there,

I have removed the solution, poking the team on the issue.

Workaround is to play one match of arcade.
