Battlefront 2 PS4 Sub Accounts Can't Play Online

I have my kids setup as PS4 Sub Accounts (family members) who are teens but can't access online content for Battlefront 2.  But Battlefront 2 says they can't access the online content due to age restrictions.  We have them setup with maximum access with the minimum age restrictions on their PS accounts - no matter how much access we allow, they still can't play the game on line.  Looking elsewhere, it seems the only way they can access online content for the game is to set them up as 18 yr olds with their own master account, which of course would then require each of them to buy a PS Plus membership.  The game says it's rated for teen, why can't a teen sub account play the online content?

My problem is similar but when a subaccount / family member tries to play online it says something like you can't access it offline.  I am online.  I can play with my main account no problem online.

Please tell me this is a bug and not some restriction.

    Thank you,

    Louis

I’ve been told by Sony that although the game is rated Teen, that is only for the offline version. The online content is restricted to 17+. Seems like that would be useful information to put on the package of a game that is primarily intended to be played online.

Mine says my kids don't have a license to play and that they have to individually purchase the game to play, although I've already bought the game and own it and the license is valid for my main account, since the 8/31/18 update, they are now locked out.....what gives EA? Can we not play a game in one household now? you want us ALL to spend $60.oo per member to play?

  • I had this same problem with my kids child account. This is how I fixed it

-From the parent/master account go to settings

-Then go to parental controls/family management

    -Click on child’s account

-Under Parental Controls select Applications/Devices/Network Features

-Under Network Features, make sure the setting entitled “Age Filtering for Online Content” is set to “Off”

Once this is done games should be playable online. Good luck!

  • @Botson24 I'm having the same problems and have age filtering set to off for my kid's child account and it's still failing. So that's not it. What i've been reading is that it may prevent you from doing this if you created your child's account with a birthday < 17 years of age. And PSN doesn't let you change your birthday unfortunately.

I got excited by @Botson24's suggestion because I original had age filtering on.  Turning it off, though, had no effect, the same as @dopey_originid's experience.

This an annoying feature to Battlefront II.
