With the surge of battlefront 2 I decided to buy the game again on steam to play, but when i went to launch it I had to install EA play to do so, now I cant even open the game because when I launch it EA play will say "preparing game", and then immediatly take me to the homescreen. ive tried unistalling steam, Ea play, and tried launching it straight from EA play, but to no prevail. Does anyone have a fix?

same issue, I don't understand. Other games can launch just fine.
ok, after trying many, the solution that worked for me is the environment variables method https://old.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/uxz3z9/my_battlefront_ii_will_literally_just_not_launch/
> search environment variables on windows search bar
> it will reach system properties then click on environment variables on the bottom
> delete GAME_DATA_DIR variable within user variables (mine was only listing for Dragon Age game, but I still deleted that one)
