downloaded deluxe edition, game wont launch

Pretty much the title! When I try to launch the game a minimized window that's all black and labeled Battlefront 2 pops up then disappears. Then nothing happens. Nothing is in my task manager. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Origin. Didn't help. I also tried deleting Origin cache from the program files but it says to open BF I need to have opened the game while logged in first, which I can't do since BF won't open. I'm currently redownloading. Any tips if this doesn't work?

    *specifically - during the redownload, play the arcade mode for a few minutes, or at least launch it. I think that helps sometimes.  The other fixes are moving the documents folder, then on from there. all in the list link above.

    I also wasn't able to launch during download either.

    After the install finishes;

    Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop (Uninstall, doesn't remove the folder).

    then run the repair tool (via the gear/cog icon in origin, on the bf2 screen. After the repair finishes reboot and try it.

    After that, if the issue isn't related to Direct X (make sure you have done all windows updates), I would check #2A 2B in the fix list link below.

    I checked out that thread and followed it into another and a post in their had the solution. My Windows 7 software wasn't up to date! It's still downloading at round 20% complete but I'm able to open BF2 and play the arcade! I'll consider this solved.
