I played yesterday dx12 without any problem (2080 Ti on 1440p/144hz screen , all ultra , perfectly smooth 130-144 fps)
It worked like a charm.
To day , new update and now dx12 is completely unplayable , I checked my fps and sometimes they go down to 30-50 fps , WTF ?
what happened with latest update ????
I tried to update my drivers with 440.97 but unfortunately it s the same.
Anyone experience problem with dx12 ?
I tried dx11 , it seems to be ok.

I got this problem too.
After switch to dx12 game drops ~30fps
Got some solutions but its work about 2-3 min and frames drop again.
(turn off dx12,quit game,start game,wait for shadow optimalization,switch dx12,quit game,start game, wait for shadow optimalization,play game)
Smells like shadow optimalization failed for dx12
My 2 frends have identical problem.
Ryzen 2700x, rtx 2070, 16gb ram, 1440p, max

indeed , the problem is confirmed : a friend has exactly the same problem with AMD Rx5700.
Dx12 doesn't work at all since update.
I really hope a fix soon.
I tried yur solution : it works for 1-2 min for me and after massive framedrops in dx12 mode ☹️
But it s strange , why EA releases this update if it s bugged like hell ????
It`s funny game, why?
I stop playing Battflefront about 6 months ago.
Game after update crashing all time, many ppl have this same problem as me.
Waiting about 30 days and they dont fix this...
Now I`m back and game still broken, but now dont crashing but dx12 mode bugged.
Dont tell me "please give me system info blah blah blah".
Never get any problem with any game. Always if some of my game crashing its game fault.
Must wait, but no more then 10days for fix after this time I`m must say "cya" origin pass.
@Crithappenz_WoW : 100% agree with you and honestly , I m really thinking to stop buying EA Games now ☹️
BFV has also many problems (oh wait , it's the same graphical engine than swbf2 :D )
so disapointed and I think u re right , we must wait many days before the fix.
it s completely unprofessional to release a such update in production without testing the basic things in the game...

DICE TeamHey @cyberfredcobra @Crithappenz_WoW lets see if we can find a workaround on the issue.
Try moving the document folder to desktop and then start the game up change the settings to DX12 restart the game and see if that helped.
I tried it on my machine and DX12 is working for me no changes with FPS.

@EA_Atic : I tried it : basically , I completely erased the folder document and I launch the game , enabled dx12 and relaunched the game :
I was very happy cos during 1-2 min , fps was ok but after , the same fps drops : only 50-60 fps in 1080p with high end configuration : 2080 Ti@2ghz and 9900k@5ghz , instead of 144 fps in 1440p before update with dx12 !
a small information : when I launch the game with dx12 enabled : absolutely no problem in the menu : 144 fps constant : I play 1-2 min and massive fps drops , I returned to the menu and now 75 fps ??? it s very weird , I cant explain it.
I ve never had this behaviour previous update ☹️
what kind of configuration do u have ? a friend has exactly the same problem with an AMD RX5700 , so it s not an exclusive NVidia (or Amd) issue I think.
We need patch not deleting/fixing our computer.
Our frends have that same problem with different system spec.
After few updated (~7-8months) very strange things happen on this game.
