Within the past week I am not able to connect consistently. About 50% of the time when I start the game, it puts me in offline mode (no error code). Usually, I just have to restart the game to connect.Anyone else seeing this?Is this just a continuation of the connection issues from a few weeks ago?

Today was the first since I posted the issue that I got in on first try. Did EA change anything?Requested details:Country: USAISP: FrontierPlatform: PCTroubleshooting: made sure drivers up to date, made sure latest Windows updates applied, did internet speed test, rebootedSo many updates occurring on EA's side and user's side (e.g. Windows updates), even a game that has had no releases for months can have issues. Not easy to troubleshoot sometimes, I know.

I'm still unabe to connect. Not even restarting or clicking on connect helps.

@EA_Atic Its 23.00 hrs GMT and it is still happening. I have found ...as mentioned in several places ....if you keep trying the CONNECT ....it will eventually will connect. @EA_Atic What do we THINK we know so far …People are starting up in off-line mode. If you try and CONNECT you receive error 721You can accept the error and try to CONNECT again.You can connect eventually but you need to be persistent. So a “solution” of sorts.Its never the same amount of connect requests. @Caduceousdifferent issues, the error code 721 is very generic for any network issues.

The issue can be on the user side, somewhere between the server and the user, an ISP has an issue and or it could be on the server-side. Pinpointing where the issue can be/is hard to do.

This is why I look for behaviour and why I ask specific questions to where players are reporting it from for example.

Thank you for the clarification. I was under the impression that 721 implied an server-side error, but it would seem that there can be a host of other problems that cause it! (See what I did there?)
I've been auto-connected 9 out of 10 times over the past week, with the occasional need to manually connect only taking one try.

Thanks for your continued interest.
Given that we are seeing multiple reports from users in Asia, Europe and the US ....plus no common ISP at fault ... I make the assumption that at this stage there must be some potential thoughts as to the cause (and what the eventual solution might be).
Is there anything you can share?

I too have just encountered this issue. I've had no connection issues since launch and now I cannot connect once I load into the game.
I have no issues getting connected and getting into games in Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5 or Apex.
As far as I know the configuration of my game has not changed, and if I can connect in other BF games I dont really understand why BF 2 would be unable to connect.

I really hope EA can get their act together in regards to customer support since, in spite of there being so many well known issues in the game, EA has not made satisfactory effort to address any of them without them having been taken to court to force them to take action which in my opinion is unacceptably bad.

So I ran the .cmd setup that @Im_CtrlAltDel posted a total of 3 times, launching the game in between this, and after the third time it seemed to work as the game loaded in and connected.

I am experiencing this issue for a few weeks now as well. I need to click a few times on the connect button to be able to play online.

After no issues for about a week, I'm back to having to manually login. Average number of attempts is 5, with 721 Errors following each failed attempt.
No changes to my system.
