The game is unplayable on EA servers and EA clearly do not care. So go and host your own server on kyber or join someone else's. At least you can kick any hackers from the game straight away there, and only mods that you want will be used. From what I have experienced in the last week, kyber servers are way better than EA servers ever where. You do not need EA or their pathetic support for the game to still enjoy playing battlefront 2.
@ivkkyc98bqqwThe problem with Kyber is that most servers seem to have required mods lists that are longer than a CVS receipt. This means you have to separately google, download, configure, version match, and load order balance a dozen plus mods, all using an alpha version of a mod launcher that is still temperamental and doesn't work for all users.
Every time I open Kyber, I see maybe one half full GA/Sup server (20~ players). Everything else is single digits, or empty. I have to wonder if part of this population problem, is the pushing of expansive mods lists and an alpha version of a game launcher, right out of the gate.
Personally, I just bought this game a couple weeks ago, and because of the non-functional state of the "official" multiplayer, I still don't know how vanilla plays. So I'm not eager to go and grab a dozen rebalance and character/class replacement mods right at the outset; I'd just like a regular 'ole vanilla server without f***ing hackers everywhere. But maybe I'm just in the minority there, I don't know; all I know is it's got me stuck on EA's awful official servers, and that Kyber's player count never seems high enough.
To be clear, I love the idea behind Kyber and modded Battlefront 2; I remember putting hundreds of hours into assorted Battlefront 2 2005 mods. But that was only after I actually knew the regular game reasonably well, not the second I downloaded it. I'm not deriding their service, it just doesn't offer what I'm looking for at the moment (vanilla Battlefront 2 GA/Sup).EA Is too concerned with hiding the problem than actually doing anything about it... typical.
This is an easy problem to solve, just start your own server with no mods.
Adding that to the game in the first place would have made too much sense.
Last night I entered a Heroes vs Villains match in Felucia, I was in the dark side ready for action. As soon as the match started, my team was receiving a beating of explosions, one after another. After some confusion I started going up to find out what was it, when I get almost to the top, I saw Han Solo, floating in the sky throwing detonite charges without any cooldown. I immediately closed the game, I felt powerless, there is nothing I can do and if I try to do something, no one cares, EA is not doing anything for us anyway. So why bother, but I’m not investing another penny in an Electronic Arts game.
This game is in such * * state that you can't play it, too many hackers and there is nothing you can do about them. This game is ruined. Today I played only two games without hackers, otherwise hacking all the time.
Hacking will end as soon as EA shuts down the servers for ever. The game had always some cheaters playing, but now it's flooded with them. And the 1hp hack only makes it visible for everybody.
