Sure. I never once defended the new Claw Rush on the older and far superior forums, and I have never done so in my very limited posts on here either. Once again, I would gladly take back the old Unrelenting Advance and the old Claw Rush over that which makes you and oh so many other players complain time and again.
Reality? Oh, like players jumping off the high ledges, platforms, or Ewok/Wookie trees on Endor/Kashyyyk with non Force user units or certain special units and somehow not dying? How about Heroes and Villains still getting stuck on top of the tree in GA on Naboo (near the last Ion Disruptor cases of phase I), or on the metal fixtures throughout the right side of the downed Stardestroyer in the final phase of Jakku? Still happens. What about dead spots in the barracks of Kamino that cancel out abilities? I have played this game for over 3 years.
I can accept the fact that a melee attack from a unit not wielding a lightsaber vs. a player blocking with a lightsaber doesn't deal great damage to or outright kill the trooper or unit who is performing the melee attack (for example) as this game would then be unplayable, and result in more people quitting games than they already do/have. Or how one blaster shot from either an infantry unit or vehicle unit to the head or center mass of a player does not kill nearly ANY/EVERY non-vehicle unit in the game.
However, the fact that Han Solo's Shoulder Charge counters Surge Thrust and then makes General Grievous prone is as ignorant as those who believe this game wouldn't be 100% dead were it not based upon Star Wars. Solo's Detonite can counter most anything, but yeah, let his shoulder do the same as an insanely powerful explosive. Right. Gotcha. Searching for logic amidst this player base (especially those so upset by Claw Rush) is about as pointless as searching for solutions from the illogical developers regarding 3+ year old glitches.
You know what is more game breaking and game ruining than Claw Rush? Non-existent team balancing and horrendous matchmaking. But yeah, I guess two preexisting parties being placed on the same team vs. a team of say myself, 2-4 competent players (at most) & 15-17 people who just downloaded the game and/or never play the objective is far less a concern than General Grievous Claw Rush. I guess that someone wanting it to be said pre-exisiting parties placed on opposite teams with evenly dispersed numbers of the 15-17 new players is far too much to ask.
After all, instead of EA/Dice addressing this and going about fixing it years ago with a very simply and yes, a very legal algorithm, they instead catered to the vocal minority of people who kept complaining how everything was supposedly too over powered. Not saying that is you (in fact, it probably isn't) but I am stating that quite a few such people like that can be found on the number of topics about Claw Rush. Persons who seldom utilize the terrain and are not good teammates. But yeah, mostly great points on your part. Mostly.
So basically your entire argument is "lightsaber beats blaster", cool. Another addition to the ignore immediately list
Sick, huh? Maybe you should go to the doctor. Oh, so I am toxic? Yeah, I am so toxic for caring about logic. I don't even really play as General Grievous anymore due to him being MAX level. I was forced into picking him during that doomed GA game on Hoth, as 2 of my first choice Villain options were not available (and no, they aren't Vader, Kylo, Palpatine, or Bossk either). I had to clarify that last bit as you are most definitely another person on here who jumps to false conclusions.
You know, like my being toxic, or my being a kid, or my being a Fortnite player (not that anything is wrong with that). I am quite a good player at Battlefront II and I can/do win on a very, very consistent basis, while routinely placing in the Top 5. I also do so without the insulation of preexisting parties or a stacked team. But yeah, I don't win all the time. In fact, I find it very, very difficult to win at times (although I have carried many a terrible teams) with odds that are basically a team of 20 (with a preexisting party of 8-14 cohesive players all chatting it up on their group chat smart phones) vs. myself, 2-3 actual objective playing teammates, & literally everyone else who might as well be on the other team because that is the only team they are a benefit to.
i hate this post. it absolutely should counter thrust surge. greivous is strong enough as is. interestingly, darth maul's spin dash goes right through shoulder charge. although i hate spin dash it usually never hits and does terrible damage

Yeah take this thread down. They aren't gonna change the shoulder charge mechanics just for one hero. Cry about it
The only somewhat counter i've found to GG is mind trick and hopefully the person on the other end will not be able to deal with the slown down controls or hit u only once.
As usual, you hit the nail on the head and backed it up with the cold hard facts.

You can edit it and @ him. Also agree with Rogue on this too
I get it, the new control changes for dash mechanics kinda erase all arguments about the thrust surge vs shoulder charge discussions.
But just think about how it was before the update: When Solo countered your thrust surge, there was perhaps little you could do anymore. If the Solo players didn't just roll.
The general issue that Han's shoulder charge might be a tiny bit OP for hero combat however still persists.
In the last update they even rose the dmg output by 50 points and I strongly suspect that this was done because some whiney youtuber with much followers complained about how weak the ability and Han Solo overall is. I mean just forget about that before the update the ability could already OHK regular troopers, but now it can also instakill heavies. No dmg increase star cards are even needed for this...
But sure, almighty youtuber felt higher and mightier than me and so he responded with insults when I critisiced him in the comments below lol
The point here is not that the new controls had the bad side effect to make Grievous op overall (yeah, no further debates needed about that), but that Han's shoulder charge goes a bit over the top. Not as much as the dreaded claw rush of course, but it does.
@soapy_catusesYou can counter by standing very close to a wall and block as this won't allow Grievous/Rey/Kenobi/Han Solo to maneuver behind your back and maybe even cancel their animation, just as before the update when the dash went rather straight into a wall.
You still need to be cautious though and always adjust the block to their position, as they can still somewhat slip through you by dashing parallel to the wall (consider Greivous big hitbox size!).
