StarWars Battlefront 2: Failure to Launch - Error Code (Missing DLL: mfplat.dll)

This is going to be off the wall odd - I found a solution for a different game, saying the error is related to the version of windows and a media pack will fix it, link is in the post, it's on EA answers under a different game :P

I had EXACTLY the same problem

The PC I was using was a Windows 7 64 bit OS

yeah, i can't play not good enough vid card ☹️ nvidia 840M

Invalid License -- Reason Code = Missing DLL: [mfplat.dll] Error: 0x7E

I get the same error message. Been waiting on EA chat for more than 2hrs to see if I can get help.

Run all windows updates, and reboot, and keep checking for windows updates until there are none :S
