"There’s no way EA was going to produce Squadrons and another SW title in the time left on their contract; it’s completely unrealistic. Squadrons was a flop and it has a lot to do with people not trusting EA / DICE to produce anything of value."
That wasn't a problem either in the timespan between BF2015 and BFII, even given that BFII is packed with way more than the previous game.
Of course they're not going to do that now, if they had ever planned that, poduction would've started way earlier already.
Again, if that's what people think of EA already, then pulling a dead game won't change that unless they see actual results in upcoming ones.
For the Battlefield series, if they'd pull e.g. BFV that'd not make me any happier unless BF6 really is basically more like BF3 as they promised.
"As for “whom” these people are; the platform people use to express their experiences doesn’t invalidate them. You think because people collab on Reddit that it’s somehow not legitimate?"
Yes, in the regard that it doesn't represent the entire playerbase just because people gather at some forum. Besides, the devs leaning to that and youtubers is one of the reasons why the game has received those really weird back and forth balancing in the past. Some really loud requests and as soon as it's done, there's that outrage of people requesting the opposite.
The way how reddit works it's misleading already to even estimate who's the majority over something. Not to mention that not everyone even uses reddit or speaks fluent English and so forth. Also you talked about people posting questions and issues on reddit, that doesn't even mean that they want to kill the game entirely. Yes, I wanted to see Ahsoka in this game too.
"part of the point I’ve made here, is that you likely have new players finding this game or having found it recently and getting a bad taste for EA because of how bad this game is. "
The bad taste, again is not just a Battlefront thing and one game pulled won't extinguish that fire.
As if Battlefront is the only game series that has been made under EA's supervision.
To improve the quality, change the course and show what you got for the community in the future, else you can pull BFII and other games as often as you want.
Why would the EA staff come up like: "Hey, let's start another controversy and shitstorm by pulling that game because we don't have enough yet!"
People have bought it with the expectation of playing it online, forcing it into an offline state is not what they're going to like. We can't act like everyone is having zero fun with this game or completely moves on to different games. If it is like that, it'll all be solved by itself when people abandon the game like in BF2015, with a small core left who like the game for their own reasons.
As no new Battlefront is coming, what are BFII players supposed to do then? Who says that they'll all move to BF2015 or another EA title at all?
