Am I alone in being absolutely disappointed in this game!!!

It would appear so, as all the reviews seem to be so favourable with reviews scoring it 8, 9 out of 10.

I was very dubious when this game was first announced, and held off pre-ordering for quite some time, before being convinced to order it when I watched one of the last few launch trailers. It looked epic, amazing a true Star Wars Space Combat game with a really cool single player story mode. What more could I ask for? Having played and really enjoyed Stars Wars Fallen Order, EA were finally producing some, top notch Star Wars games.

Well to be blunt. I have not really enjoyed any of it, it feels unfinished, slapped together, very light on content. Buggy. The hanger and empty conversations with NPC's I have no attachment with are a joke, the fact that I thought you could choose which faction you wanted to play the story with, and the idea that I could create a cool customisable character are not present in the game. This feels like a dlc add on for something bigger and better!!!

I enjoyed the single player game in Star Wars Battlefront II more than this!!! The Space Combat in Battlefront II in my opinion is also better than this game.

X4 is better than this game.

No Man's Sky is better than this game.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is better than this game.

Starlink battle for atlas is Better than this game.

Infinity Battlescape is better than this game.

Everspace 2 Prolouge was more fun and is better than this game.

Sorry to Rant, but if I could ask for a refund I would, this game is a 5 maybe 6 out of 10 for me!!!!

What do you guys honestly think. Have you re-watched the trailers to compare what was advertised, and what we actually have?????

I personally feel a great disturbance in the Force!!!!

I knew it would be flashy, I knew it would be minimal, what I didn't expect was completely uncontrollable with mouse and keyboard when the 27 year old titles got that right.

Since they are ignoring all threads that ask about it in tech support, bug report and general I'm starting to think the conspiracy theory nuts are right, its by design, surly they cant be that incompetent? Right?

Aside from the joystick control bug, I'm just incredibly disappointed by the Time To Kill decision. Why make it 3 to 4 times higher than it's supposed to be? Keeping the TTK closer to WW2 dogfighting, which is what SW space combat is inspired from like in the movies, is both more accurate and still allows for a high level of skill. Lower TTK means you can remove the silly auto aim that every single laser weapon has, allows for more skill in defensive flying and lets deflection shooting actually be useful.

It feels terrible unloading shots into a TIE fighter for it to not die. I really hope devs at least make a sim/hardcore/movie-like mode or whatever you want to call it, that removes auto-aim and adds a more accurate TTK.

I too am a bit disappointed. I was expecting a more realistic VR feel after playing the VR mode in Battlefront I some years ago. I just started playing beginning with the Story Mode and notice that I am not able to move my head to change viewpoint. I wouldn't consider this to be true VR if my perspective doesn't change when I move my head. Am I missing something?

Yes.
It's as good or better than Ace Combat 7. That's enough for me. Don't care about fleet battle. Dogfights w/ HOTAS in VR are the bee's knees.

Starfighter Assault was Mario Kart compared to this.
Squadrons provides an in-cockpit experience that is the main event, rather than an afterthought (see Yoda's cockpit, 'cause you couldn't see OUT of it!)
You can bump into a curb without exploding into bits
You can actually come to a complete stop, these aren't planes.
No hero ships causing imbalance
No MIA developer (Criterion) so at least they *could* make more content if they wanted to.
Developers who provide a list of known bugs at launch (as opposed to never).
I could go on...

Yes, it would seem. The game works in 6dof. I can lean forward and see the tips of my wings.I think I do it here:
Could be a tracking issue. If you're using WMR, make sure you're not playing in front of a plain white wall and that the room isn't too dark. Also, leaning doesn't really work in the menus or scoreboards, just while in cockpit.
Oh yeah, it does work in the hanger, like when I went for a stroll in the U-Wing:

@ant0067i the game is not 10/10, but it is exactly what I expected it to be. Its multiplayer aspect is good and requires skill as well as teamwork

can sink a lot of hours into its multiplayer. the singleplayer was always going to be a glorified tutorial. 8/10 game, but yes some bugs need to get sorted

Thanks!!! Your advice was really helpful. My setup had changed after relocating all my PS4 gear to another spot. Once I turned off the overhead halogen lights and recalibrated all the lights on my PS4 VR everything worked as I had originally hoped.
