@DarthJAYder21Same deal here.It actually looks like it crashes any time it's about to load into Yavin. Usually there's no error, just silent crash. One of the times, though, I got the attached error (it won't show up when I try to insert it as an image, sorry). I renamed that file to a *.old instead of a *.dll just to see if the game would notice, it did not. Weird thing is, I'm not playing this in VR mode so I have no idea why it would be trying to access that particular file. I've also gone through and verified my local game files, as someone on Reddit said they had success with that. No luck here, everything checked out fine. Twice. The game is only quasi-playable at this point. I can't progress in the story and I have a high probability that a given multiplayer match will crash to desktop. Same crash in VR for both the SP mission and the map in MP. After researching found a reddit post that stated "it's solved by lowering the volumetric quality (VR or non-VR)." so I am going to try that. Figured it would be worth sharing with the devs to help focus in on what is causing it.

I am trying to run the non vr version of this game. I have my game on steam and I am getting issues of it just crashing at random points. Whether it starts up or just after I do my set up. I am, like many others, having issues with either getting a blue screen or the game just failing to launch. I tried many fixes like the windowed mode and verifying the game files. I have updated drivers and windows and it has gotten worse with the blue screen launches. Every other game in my library is working for me except this one and it is really frustrating to have this issue. I also performed a clean boot to prevent anything from giving me this crash but it has not changed. CPU: i7-10700kRam: 16gb DDR4-3500 Mhz GPU: RTX 2070 OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Same - only happens when playing Yavin, story mission 2. 100% of the time, fixed by turning Volumetric detail to low for that mission only

This is what I found too - My default grpahics setting is Ultra - Changed to custom and dropped Volumetric setting to High and it loaded right in.

@DarthJAYder21 Having the same issue as OP. Volumetric set to low and changing to windowed did not fix the issue.

Confirmed the same crash in VR mode.
It is on load to the mission. If I die and respawn it crashes silently on respawn. It is consistent and happens 100% of the time, but only on Yavin.

This bug was also preventing me from continuing story to start mission 2 with 100% rate of crashing to desktop across many attempts. Incredibly frustrating.
I can confirm that dropping volumetric quality from Ultra to Low did resolved the situation for me.
Dropping volumetric quality from ultra to high did not fix the problem. (i did not try medium, went right to low after high failed)
FWIW: RTX2080S, Nvidia Surround (5760x1080), Ryzen 3950X, 64GB RAM

@DrWallshot FWIW, I can confirm dropping to medium worked for me. I turned it back to ultra after that mission and it has been fine so far, but I haven’t tried multiplayer with it like that. I assume a Yavin match will probably crash it again.

Same here, happens on both the single player mission and the Yavin dogfight multiplayer mission. Happens 100% of the time.
I can load in no issues with no-VR, but if I toggle inside the map it crashes immediately.

Same here, game crash every time I launch Mission 2 on Yavin.
I tried everything (repair, uninstall, windows mode, etc) nothing works...
Remind me never to buy an EA game day 1 please

Pretty much the same happened to me.

I was able to finish the mission, but before the Final Cutscene loads, the game crashes to desktop.

After reloading the game several times, the game crashed already from just loading the mission.

Turning Volumetric Fog to Low fixed the issue.

My System Specs:

I have been trying unsuccessfully to find a workaround to this. Even lowering vol to med or low and I am still having CTD issues. My most common CTD occurs as I am trying to launch the game, sometimes I have to try to launch the game 4 or 5 times in a row just to be able to access the settings. My second most common CTD occurs when playing the fleet battle tutorial. I'll get to either the x-wing launching into space and CTD or I will CTD immediately after completing on objective. This also occurred a few times in mission 1 and mission 2, usually right after a check point. I have lowered all graphic settings to low and run in windowed mode and still the CTD occurs, regardless on whether I reboot or not. I have also verified game files, disable all game overlays from discord, steam, and nvidia, I have up to date graphics drivers. I have run steam as administrator, and still the CTD occurs. Windows is also updated.
This is not an issue on my end. It is a software issue. Here are my specs:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-core
Memory (RAM): 16gb
OS: WIndows 10 (64 bit)
GPU: GeForce RTX 2060

For me, Mission 2 crashes at the end, right after the main objective is complete and we're approaching the star destroyer. Silent crash to desktop, no error. I'm playing in VR. This still happens after the 1.1 patch.
