Multiplayer - do we need to pay for it on PC? Please answer!

I would greatly appreciate an answer to this question(s) from those who play Battlefront on PC. 

1) I have an EA/Origin account: do I have to pay for multiplayer access and participation on Battlefront like the other consoles/platforms?

2) Or is it free for me to participate on Multiplayer in the events on PC because I have an EA/Origin account?

    From the PC side of the game, it's basically all multiplayer. I believe the console games are the same, so there should be no need to pay an additional fee for that. I can point you.

    Hi Shade.

    I heard you can only have access to the multiplayer option on PS4 by paying a subscription fee to get onto the network. That's what is concerning me about PC.

    I spoke to EA.

    They state that the PC version of multiplayer is free with no additional costs: I have it all in writing. But for platforms such as PS4, you need internet access and to log onto the network in order to access the multiplayer. It may have changed to free recently, I'm not too sure, but it used to be something like 50 a year for access.

    It's all so confusing with what is free and what isn't free, with some saying you HAVE to pay to access multiplayer or subscribe to access multiplayer at "no additional cost".

    It is possible it has changed.

    Do you have the game on PC? Did you need to pay anything?

    yes, I have the game on PC and have only paid the initial game cost, plus the season pass cost (which has not put out any DLC's yet). I am a pc player only for my games. Easier then dealing with xbox or play station networks.

    I am still unsure about this issue. It is free to play the multiplayer, but you have to pay $4.99 a month for origin access in order to be able to play. Is this correct? Or can I buy the game and be able to play online without paying for anything but the cost of the game?
