Me too, on Xbox Series X. I've tried everything that I could think of also.. trying right now of my XBox One just to see but it's updating rn.
UPDATE: works on XBOX One! While starting the game on the One, I got a message that there was a sync error on my other device. I selected last synched data from the cloud and Battlefront started fine. Went back to Series X, but selecting last synched data did not work. Still "Connecting...". Continuing to troubleshoot.
Went back to Xbox One and now I'm getting the same "Connecting..." on it too. I guess I got lucky or whatever is happening to everyone infected my One also.

Same here on Series S. I was randomly able to connect 2x in the past few days. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
