Re: Head Tracking with OpenTrack

@Edgeshark Indeed, thanks for mentioning this here. It was already discussed in the Steam forums.
Congratz also to the people that thought this out.
This is no 'proper' solution though.
Why would we need to install the Steam VR drivers ... if we do not have a VR headset ?
Those additional programs needed may also mess with other games and this only for this game (and maybe NMS).
I still hope EA will support and apply proper TrackIr API's within the game itself.
This only proves again that people (including myself) are really eager to have TrackIr support for Star Wars Squadrons !

  • SteamVR is like a universal platform  for VR via OpenVR interface.

if you use oculus you may use native drivers for VR, but for other VR devices even your game is origin you have to use SteamVR app integrated to steam. So , the problem is that steamVR is more compatible with steam game , but it works also with nonSteam game ( origin or epic if developers want to use OpenVR interface). You have to install drivers from steam or probably through GitHub. SteamVR is beta.

but some settings in steamvr is for each steam apps (steam games ). Also there are settings for auto or not auto supersampling for each apps and I don’t know how to build in settings for each nonSteam games , except use global settings only.

that’s why I don’t know in that shop I have to buy Squadrons ....... only oculus we can use without steam VR for origin , but for steam there are no native support of oculus ( probably marketing ). EA wants to sell games in Origin.
