Re: Online Connection Error & Lag

Update: I have experienced less lag as a result of opening ports however my brother also needs to be able to play on his own xbox and he still gets lag (because the ports open on my ip) and i cant figure out how to fix this issue and open all the ports again for his IP???
I get an error that wont let me open the same ports on seperate IPs? Is this an issue?

Im so annoyed i paid money to sit around messing with routers. EA is pushing its luck :/
There must be an easier way or a patch coming to fix this its a game breaker.

Edit: Can i assign the new IP im using for the Open Ports on both Xboxs or do they require seperate IPs??? :/

    @LoveNolan

You need to let UPnP dynamically forward the ports to whichever XBOne requires it at the time, this is probably the simplest method. You should remove any static forwarding rules set up on the router and enable UPnP on both sides-worth to try this step🤔 ((although i don't have  xboxes to test with))😇

If buy another *internet* IP and have static forwarding to both wireless and wired connections, simple.😉

Still by using 2 different ip internally you are creating the same problem(gets lag). You can not port forward the same outside port to 2 different ip inside even if it happens to be the same device.

What you need to accomplish is to get the xbox to use the same IP on the wireless and the ethernet. On a PC it is pretty simple you just go in and set them the same. Sometimes you have to manually disable one but many times it just work. I would try to put the same IP on both the wireless and the wired connection in the xbox.

If all else fails you manually set the ip when you change from wireless to wired. 🤨

  • Okay i cant really understand what your saying. Sorry.
I think I got: you cant port forward to 2 seperate devices with one ip.
Which is unfortunate since i need it to play on Battlefront. So i pay for 2 games which force me to open ports except i can only do it on one device? Why EA? Why do they not have good servers?

Where do i go from here? It gets a bit too technical for me

@LoveNolan you need to create an incident using the Talk to a Game Advisorlink on the left, and a Game Advisor will assist you.

Select Star Wars:Battlefront from the list.
Select a topic for the best results.
Scroll to the bottom and select Contact Us.
Select your platform and list a short description of your problem.
Select live chat or call me to request a call back from an advisor.

A game advisor certainly will succeed to solve your issue, mate. I can not do more for you because i don't have Xbox.😞

  • Dont worry man. You helped a lot. Only EA can fix this issue because none of your common troubleshooting techniques work☹️

I appreciate all you did to help and just hope they can solve this or patch it next patch.

I already clicked those links before btw but im on mobile so i only ever see the Community Support button not Live Chat button which was originally what i was looking for. Ill try again though thanks.
  • Found it! Problem probably wont be fixed but i got some help from live chat. If these dont work i dont know what will. Thanks Yahel_1
