- telling this to friends, nobody believes ...
- @The_Pilchard38 Anything?
Hi.
No, but I imagine we won’t hear anything one way or the other until the next update is out.Maybe the more people that (politely) mention it to @tibermoon on Twitter the better. If they have acquired one specifically to work with though, I am hopeful they are on it. Just takes time I guess and it probably is an issue that is only effecting a small amount of people so not as high a priority as we’d like.

As mentioned on Twitter, we have the hardware now and are investigating. Unfortunately several aspects of the Hori appear to have been designed very specifically for AC7 (not “generic” like other flight sticks) hence the problems. No promises, but we’re seeing what we can do. Keep an eye on future patch notes.
Many thanks for the update @MotiveTibby , appreciated.
Thanks for your efforts and fingers crossed!
- @MotiveTibby Thanks for the feedback!
Unfortunately, only after acquiring the HORI equipment did I realize how complicated things can get with these button combinations (example: R1 + L1, L2 + R2, L3 + R3 ...) to make the button definitions on the game.
I don't know what level of integration and interaction you have within EA / Motive with the people of HORI itself.
But ... One thing I've been thinking about is this:
As far as I can see there is some software embedded in the HORI product itself, taking into account that there is even a firmware upgrade for the joystick available on their website ...
Therefore, I can believe that it is possible that there is a way (probably new firmware?) To separate the buttons that these button combinations ...
Obviously, it would not be a development work on the part of EA / Motive, but rather a demand for HORI itself.
Depending on your level of interaction, perhaps they could meet a demand in this regard more quickly if it were something that came up as an "emphatic suggestion" on your part!
;-)
All these ideas that I am throwing here ... Have you been through similar possibilities? @MotiveTibby my main issue is the throttle, If you can fix that part I can live without sorting the buttons
- @MotiveTibby Any news on when the patch will be coming?

@Pryde33633 It went live this morning. 🙂 Super job @MotiveTibby
Many thanks to you and the team.
- @MotiveTibby Yes i know that now and I can finally use the throttle how it should be, thank you
- @MotiveTibby Is that only for PC or can Ps4 use the joystick too?
@MotiveTibby I am still having issues using the PS4 Hori hotas. The game only recognizes it as a DualShock and I cannot use the throttle properly. It is either full on or off or neutral basically. Is the patch coming to PS4?

@optimuspdx Yes, the patch went to PS4 a few weeks ago. See patch notes here: https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/squadrons/news/update-4-0-release-notes
The Hori HOTAS is treated as a gamepad, you're correct. You just need to change your throttle setting from dynamic to static to get it to work as expected. Good flying, pilot! 🙂 - MotiveTibby5 years ago

@DeadOpsOsiris It works on the PS4. 🙂 @MotiveTibbyany possible solution to the problem with the combinations (example: R1 + L1, L2 + R2, L3 + R3 ...) of this HOTAS?

Unfortunately no. Those buttons are hard-coded to be combo inputs (for AC7 specifically, I believe), and our input system doesn't support combos, so there wasn't much we could do with it.
- I'm sad to read this @MotiveTibby.
can we assume then that the only minimally decent option for having HOTAS with a PS4 (and with the PS5 too) is "T.Flight Hotas 4" from Trustmaster?
https://www.thrustmaster.com/pt_BR/products/tflight-hotas-4 - @MotiveTibby Is there any such corrective patch for ac7?
