Re: why the hell do i need playstation plus to play star wars battlefront???

Battlefront is almost entirely multiplayer and Playstation requires plus for multiplayer.

Playstation is a closed platform owned by Sony. They decide where and how it works. Complaining about it here makes little difference.

I think the issue is that to play this game with most of the functionality needed to be a compelling game (overall rank increase for unlocks) you need to pay an ongoing fee on top of the funds you spend for the game itself. Had I myself known this before I bought Battlefront, I would have never gotten the game in the first place.

Uh, resurrection of a 2 year old thread.

But again, this is not the fault of Battlefront. You should not have done the research before you got the Playstation itself.

  • I really dont understand how Fortnite doesnt need ps plus to play online and other games do need ps plus to play multiplayer

That's a great question, however it's not something we can give you a clear definitive answer on because every title varies with partnerships with Microsoft and Sony. As Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus are their services, I'd say for an official answer it's best to reach out to their Support teams to inquire any further.

Since this post is several years old I'll be locking it down from further necroposting.

    • Don't "necropost." Reviving, updating or bumping old, outdated and irrelevant threads is not helpful for our community. It's best to check when the thread was created before you hit post, just to make sure it's not 2 years old for example.
