Have you tried the TrueOpenVR + Freetrack hack? Works really well, with some caveats.
I also recommend the SmoothTrack app. Just got rid of my led clip and PSEye cam. YAY!
Disappointed TrackIR wasn't considered. I use it in every other sim. I get that this is more of an arcade thing, but to go all-in on VR and not add TrackIR support....It sucks because I already have the game, but I have no desire to play it without head-tracking.
+1 to TrackIR
There is a thread about this started virtually at launch that went to 18 pages before a troll got the thread locked, but yes, there are many, many people who want TrackIR supported.
To a decent developer, it's about 4 hours work to do, with a Free SDK that has example code, and it would be a trivial thing to add that so many would appreciate, I have no idea why the devs are so reticent about this or why they refused to even comment about it.
The only comment they've expressed was that they didn't even consider it (or know about it) before release, but as freelook is broken in game in the current implementation (you can't look and fly at the same time regardless of the axes bound) then this really should be a high priority.
+1 for trackir

+1 to native TrackIR support. But, while we wait, the workaround works really well, you should give it a try.
- @Elphaba I would indeed consider this to be the main priority for star wars Squadrons because trackir support would surely boost sales and it may also prove not to be very difficult to do!

I seriously doubt EA or Motive didn't know about TrackIR, or the amount of people using it. It seems more of a comercial interest with VR headsets manufacturers. I hope I'm wrong, though.
