Crashes after starting a new journey during opening cinematic

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:PlayStation 5
Summarize your bug Crashes on the opening cinematic (from the main menu not the cinematic recapping the events of fallen order) I can access the main menu and options but the game itself is 100% unplayable for me. I can not start a new journey because it crashes every time the first cinematic attempts to load in. Troubleshooting steps i've taken: 1) reinstalled the game 2) downloaded the patch released on 5/2/2023 3) reinstalled post patch 4) cleared system cache 5) rebuilt database 6) turned on performance mode and turned off HDR settings including motion blur and film grain Having said all that, the game is still 100% unplayable for me outside of the main menu.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? from the main menu: start new journey > select any difficulty > start new journey
What happens when the bug occurs? the game attempts to load the opening cinematic. i hear what sounds like a ship about to fly into the scene and i see a black blur, presumable a ship. the game crashes at this point 100% of the time
What do you expect to see? I'd expect to be able to play the game.... my best guess is the opening cinematic and probably some sort of introduction/tutorial?

I can access the main menu and options but the game itself is 100% unplayable for me.

I'm having the exact same issue on the PS5. I originally preloaded the game as I preordered, but the game kept crashing on the opening cinematic. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and even started my console on safemode and rebuilt the database.... The game continues to crash at the opening cinematic, I can't even play the game.

my game keeps crashing on the first mission can’t even get past the opening cutscene on ps5

I'm still having this issue after the patch on the PS5, its really annoying at this point

I’m running to the exact same issue. I haven’t been able to get it working, and I’ve done the same troubleshooting as you. I’m also on PS5.

I have done all of the above and also reset the PlayStation to factory default I purchased a digital copy of the game.

As the title reads. I've tried it all. Restarted, rebuilt, reinstalled, and reset. Other next-gen titles run fine, I guess I'm just not allowed to enjoy the game? Seen a lot of HDR-related issues for others, but the problem persists for me on or off an HDR screen. I figured I would wait for the patch on 5/2 but still nothing. Help online from EA and Sony has been to reset the console and reinstall for the 9th time. Glad I purchased this day 1 for $70 to have a 150 gig menu screen. It is insane how many people have this issue, and from what I've seen it hasn't even really been addressed. I see answers to other questions pretty quickly, but whenever the thread involves this crash there is never an answer or reply. Straight up sad.

I'm having pretty much the same issue although I'm not even getting to the menu screen. I just got an email saying the issue was fixed which got me excited and was disappointed when it wasn't. I don't really know how the "my cases" thing works so it was probably just automatic and I'm being dumb or something but still. its so frustrating because I was so excited for the game and I feel really let down by how bad not only the launch has been but also trying to get a response to the issue, I hope it gets fixed soon for everyone else in the same boat.

Same. I paid 90$ for a game that I can't play more than a few minutes. I've done all the suggestions for turning graphics down, hdr off, I even cleaned my PS5, and still can't get past The Ninth sister fight without the whole console crashing.

Still having the same problem as before the patch. I can get through the first couple of minutes walking with the handcuffs on. As soon as I get out of the elevator with the K2 droid the crashes start. The game will crash on the walk or during the cutscene. Skipping doesn’t help. I’ve tried changing performance settings, motion blur, HDR, etc.reinstalled the game a few times and the same thing. The game will lock up, broken audio starts then a green screen comes up before the PS5 shuts down. Just super disappointing that this hasn’t been fixed or had any reply from EA. So many people across all platforms are having this issue.
