@GunpeiYaBoi wrote:@together60if you're like me and don't read the tactical guide, you definitely do "discover" the advantages 😅 and you still do have to discover which enemies your stances have those advantages over. I found out pretty late that the crossguard stance can cut down a shield, mostly because I avoid using it for large groups. And it's cool that it can do that, but I'd still prefer to force yank that shield, or if I'm surrounded just slam them all to the ground and turn them all into sitting ducks for whatever stance you want.
But again that just circles back around to using the force being a much bigger determining factor when it comes to balance.
So I really think that letting you use all the stances, as you said, would just give us a more interesting mechanic for experimenting with the stances that doesn't require dying and restarting at a save point. And again, it would be less immersion-breaking if Cal Kestis's all-in-one lightsaber just worked the way it logically would :c
Well... that's your own fault then ey nit! :P Two lines on tips lmao XD
Force abilities are grand, but when there are alot of shield guys, pulling ain't an option. Haven't had chance of knocking them down yet.
Prefer to cut through them atm.
I only think force abilities should be limited on the "greater" - boss like - opponents.
Think the only two ways to make it interesting is either NG+, as I mentioned before, as an additional reward. Because it will inspire people to try again
OR...
Make the bounty hunters and lightsaber armed enemies progressive. Separate from regular foes.
Meaning, generate new ones.
Jetpack enemy can be hit to remove jetpack, but can't be pulled or pushed once firmly on the ground.
If you used blaster and saber, maybe the enemy has a shield. You used crossguard? They are more agile.
Dual wield? Heavy weaponry...
Basically, have their different feats and gadgets be in relation to the tools you previously used.
And I still disagree that it should be limited to NG+ with how immersion-saving having all stances would be, it'd be a huge benefit to new players. But as always, I'll take the update however they're willing to provide it even if it's only a NG+ reward.
Procedurally generating new bounty hunters and saber wielders sounds dope though; since they're adhering to the souls model of having to hit the enemy that killed you to get back your xp, i get why the enemies have to stay the where they are, but in FO every once in a while you'd get ambushed in wider open areas that didn't normally have enemies and it was super exciting, I'd love if they brought that back and if they adapted to whatever you've been using, but only if you can switch through all the styles too.

@together60if a shield enemy is in a large group i usually just jump dash away and force yank it anyway, works like 90% of the time if i don't have blaster fire raining down on me, but then i prioritize that 🤷♂️ i didn't pick up a lightsaber to read, jack 😤

Picked up the saber to be a sith lmao!
I think all at once would just be too much. Atleast with a few at a time you get used to them, find combos, rather than "hotwheeling" it.
Shows progress from rookie to mastery heh.
Regarding the bounty huntersSpoilerThere are already bounty hunters... they're large in missions. Think few got the drop on me. Them and Dagan's elite getting the drop on you would give an excellent opportunity to do this. Getting your XP back could be possible by having them stay there after death for a while anyways.
Besides that, they could add the "credits" for the second saber and the blaster's color crystals as additional rewards. - 3 years ago@together60 if i was this game isn't letting me with it's only two stance slots 🤷♂️ i think the only reason anyone think all of your stances is too much is that the game already forced only two on us. Ghost of Tsushima gives you 4 stances, Elden Ring gives you 6 weapons slots, and we've already established that the lightsabers hardly matter for balancing.
and the bounty hunter missions are great, but i mean they should appear randomly too because once you've finished them they don't show up again and it's fun to get ambushed by them instead of the same local enemies - 3 years ago

Nor length, I think. So, first run limitations just seem most logical to me.
Reflects mastery Cal goes through then.
Yeah, is why I say... bounty hunters should be progressive and update continuously.
Well... bounty hunters and Dagan's amped up gang. Would be cool to see them reflect/respond to the styles you use.
Maybe the more you use specific force powers, the more resilient they respond to them aswell.
There are some really neat things one could do with it. At that point, having all tools available to you, would actually matter quite abit. - 3 years ago
@together60someone had a suggestion on reddit that i liked if people are still concerned about balance: just add more stance slots via the perks. if you make each additional stance worth two or three slots people would still strategize if they'd like an extra stance or a perk
plus i think the skill tree system is already a fine expression of Cal's mastery over time. It just makes more sense that if his lightsaber is built to do all of those things at once than he can at least attempt to and learn as he see fits, but then the skill points dictate how much better you are with one over the other

You mean... the perks slots that give you extra block and stuff - right? - 3 years ago
@together60yes, you sacrifice two to three perk slots, you get an extra stance or two instead of recovering more force over time or doing more block damage

That might actually be a great intermediate.
Like... first run, sacrifice slots. Second run, no more slots needed, you get all just like that... go ham - go crazy. - 3 years ago@together60 🤝we've reached an agreement, get EA and Respawn on the phone

@together60fair enough 🤷♂️ we found a little hope at least! the debug menu has a cycle option for the stances, so the game is technically capable of it, they just have to map it and iron out animation glitches like the crossguard vents disappearing. and also give us some kind of confirmation that they'll do it of course. i don't mind if it takes months to implement, but I have to know soon or I'm liable to buy the game again on PC just to use the wonky version :c

There is already a mod out LMAO

@together60yep, it's almost perfect too, pretty much the only thing that's missing is direct mapping for the stances or some other kind of method for cycling through them; it apparently works pretty well if you're on KbM but people on Nexus are mostly making it work on controller with another 3rd party app that handles the mapping but it disables other button functionality unless you have a controller with extra buttons. If I didn't already have the game on PS5, I would definitely be trying it out myself, but I want to hold for EA/Respawn to do it themselves so I don't have to buy the game twice 😭
- 3 years ago
also, individual Lightsaber colors, please!

I have the same with basic accessibility features. Such as the user interface keybinds that can't be altered. Now I gotta go through annoying - third party software - hoops to actually be able to somewhat play the game. It's why I can't be bothered to try the mod, fearing it'll mess it all up 😢
Hoping alot of mods from Jedi Fallen Order make their way over... and people find other stuff quickly too. Cause who knows IF and WHEN they'll add things like individual colors.
Am also surprise we don't have the battle arena... Would be nice to fight those saber bounty hunter/raider guys at will. - 3 years ago@together60 I hope they're seeing what we're having to put up with just to experience the game's full combat :c that battle arena would sure come in handy when I'm just wanting to get some sabering in too, a lot of times I'd fire up Fallen Order just to do that for an hour. But honestly, I want to see all 5 stances come to the game before any cosmetics or new modes since that's going to affect every aspect of anything else they add. But I hope when we do get individual blades and you set them both to party that they don't sync to the same colors when you use them, cuz that'd be wild.

Atleast, based on how jedi fallen order handled it. In just a minor patch.
Then 5 stances alongside battle arena as a big update not too long after. So you can go nuts.
I also launched the game every now and again... also to watch battles between different factions. Maybe they could let you set custom ones, so it's more like the holotable game.
Maybe you could choose to sync / desync the crystal - 3 years ago
@together60given that the stance switching already exists in the game to some extent and any cosmetic stuff would need to be first designed and then transposed into the game, they'd probably be about the same, so I'd like the stances first since that would improve the game across the board including any and all cosmetics, but literally if they released a roadmap that looked like that tomorrow, even with the stances and arena like half a year away, i'd be soooooo happy

Actually the customization for sabers is technically already in the game. Atleast, it was in jedi fallen order. And it's likely already here aswell. It's why you could edit the individual blades in JFO.
All they'd have to do is copy the code and UI for the original crystals and then split the values for the individual blades.
However, if they were to implement it as rewards, then it'd require additional work.
The cycling stance meanwhile would benefit far more from an extensive update. - 3 years ago@together60 yeah, hopefully, they would just work on the stance stuff alongside any updates. even if they drop an all-stances update and it's hella buggy at first it'd make for a way better immersive experience
