A few days later, but I don't think that gate is actually meant to be open. I'm just going to say that you get an ability later on in the game that allows you to pass through green laser gates.

Not to mention, that area is not a crucial zone; you didn't even need to restart the entire game to proceed further. Instead of restarting, I chose to just walk away after seeing the main objective lead me elsewhere. I don't know why the game told you that you were bypassing story elements, but Mountain Ascent is not a story zone at all, at least not where I'm at (and even if it were, you would only be able to proceed after getting the ability to pass through green laser gates)

Right, yeah I realized that once I kept playing the game. But it was still weird to get that pop up from warning, which made me think I messed up. Oh well, I ended up starting a new game with "Story Mode" difficulty to catch up easier, so it wasn't trivial to get back to that point. Thanks for your comments.

At the terminal after first green sheild, BD can slice it. However...Cal was muttering something during it and the slice didn't work for me. So frustrating as now the shield is still up and can't progress.

Hey relik03, dont read the other comments, because they are spoilers. But Short answer, its not a bug, just leave that area, and continue to do the story. No need to restart game.
