I was confused by this too.
In the image, you have 2 options: Seeds or plants. You are currently in plants, meaning that you can go over the spots and see which plants are there. It's kind of an info mode.
If you gather seeds and you want to plant them, you have to switch to the Seeds side. Then you can actually plant the seed and see it grow.

It does not allow planting of a seed in that area and it does not allow the weeding of that area either! Resetting the plot still shows there is a plant there although nothing is visually there!
Has this bug been fixed... I am on PS5 and it is happening to me as well. the area is highlighted blue as if there was a plant there but the info section says empty since there is nothing there. I want to unlock the final planting plot area so I can get the hollowmap upgrade. Please help.
Hello, As you can see from the screenshots below. The area circled says it is empty but you cannot plant there because the game thinks there is a plant there when in reality there is not a plant there. When will this be fixed? are you able to provide an ETA ? I want to complete this game 100% and I cannot access the final planting lot because of this. Please help or direct us to someone that can help.

Hi this issue / bug has also happened to me recently. As you can see in the photo attached, I am on the plants section of the menu where I should be able to see the type of plant, how it takes to grow etc. but as you can see, the spot is highlighted blue even when there isn’t a plant there and I am unable to plant or weed anything in those three blue hexagons. I have tried resetting the plot but it is still there. I’ve also tried closing and reopening the game, but it is also still there. Please fix this as I am still working towards the growth spurt trophy and need to use this plot.
