Star Wars Jedi Survivor won't launch because of ucrtbase.dll error

Product: STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor
Platform:PC
Summarize your bug: When launching the game it instantly closes and so does the EA app as it has an ucrtbase.dll error.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know.
What happens when the bug occurs? My game closes immediately and the EA app also closes with it.
What do you expect to see? I want to launch the game.

So far what I have managed to find is that this happens when trying to launch Jedi Survivor:
Faulting application name: EADesktop.exe, version: 13.180.0.5693, time stamp: 0x661d8e66
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.19041.3636, time stamp: 0x81cf5d89
Exception code: 0xc0000409
Fault offset: 0x0000000000071208
Faulting process id: 0x4884
Faulting application start time: 0x01da97ca69ba4b98
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EADesktop.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\System32\ucrtbase.dll
Report Id: e09a0ca7-caf6-48e4-b9f2-cb470c843c7e
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

I have tried:
- running DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, sfc /scannow

- reinstalling both Jedi Survivor and the EA app

- repairing both Jedi Survivor and the EA app (App Recovery and downloading the exe and repairing with that as well)

- checking for the vc redist files which both the x64 and x86 are present and installed
- clean booting as well

- running both the game and the EA app as administrator

Here's the DxDiag output in that txt file that I have attached. The ucrtbase.dll error only happens with Star Wars Jedi Survivor as I have tried with other games as well and those work.

  • You need to make sure your laptop is using the RTX 3050 Ti to play the game rather than the on-board GPU. Sometimes closing the lid and just using the external display works. However, it depends on the laptop.
