The legendary beast The Mire Terror is missing

In the viscid bog, when leaving the lucrehulk I saw what I think is an arena for a legendary creature and I saw it walking around there from a distance. I went to rest first by continuing towards the gorge crash site meditation point and when I went back there was no creature just a container with a stim canister. I tried to go back after resting nearby again and found nothing still.
