Account not eligible for referral code(s)

So I have got a referral code of a friend of mine to get a free 7-day membership. My account was made early 2017 but I'm only getting back into the game now. When I click the referral link it says my account is not eligible. Then when I click http://www.swtor.com/info/www.swtor.com/info/friends for the eligibility requirements the link doesn't work and tells me nothing. I have never been subscribed in this game before. Please help if you know how to fix this or tell me the eligibility requirements.

*NOTE*

I have looked at other posts but none of them have been any help.

    There are two types of accounts the Friends of SWTOR program is for:

    - Brand new accounts, created with the referral URL.

    - Preferred accounts with a previous subscription that has expired more than 90 days ago.

    So if you have an existing account that has never had a subscription before, the referral will not work.

    Can't help you much more though, but someone else will come by.

    The only thing I saw was that if you did this referral before you can't do it again if you do not upgrade your account.
