In the same boat. The call center is useless, some outsourced center in India that can't deviate from their scripts and refuses to help or give me the information to escalate. I've tried 3 times and keep getting the same person. Even though my account is from release, it is not tied to my EA account which I do have access to (the email on the SWTOR account is no longer available) and since it has been changed in the past they will not help.
Unfortunately the policy as far as i am aware is that an account email can only be updated once if that email access is lost, if it occurs a 2nd time then it will not be updated.
A swtor account is tied to an EA account and that EA account would of used the same email address used to create the swtor account originally
