Anyone else get a false ban?

A lot of people I know have also been banned for doing nothing 

I'll keep it short because I've already posted a minor rant elsewhere but this is the exact thing that happened to me.

Was playing the game, got booted from the server, tried to log back in and received the error message.  Checked my email and nothing.  Got the email 12 hours later.

I can see that you've disputed the suspension which I've done also.  I have no response as yet but if they tell me the suspension stands after a "thorough investigation" without actually telling me what alleged specific action resulted in the suspension, I'm going to lose it.

A quick update - I just spoke with someone at the call center - they have no clue what's going on but said they are getting TONS of calls about it.

I'm wondering if someone dun f!cked up and banned a huge amount of their clientele.

I'm willing to lose my entire Origin account over this if this 7 day ban stays. I will be charging back everything I've bought in the last 30 days (5X2month sub, 4 5500 cartel coins, Star Wars Battlefront $80 edition).

Some people who did huge amounts of "laundering" are getting 72 hour bans. I did NOTHING wrong, and I get a 7 day ban. And i'm not talking "oh I did nothing wrong except that one exploit", no I didn't even KNOW there was an exploit going on - and I've only been back 3 weeks!

My main issue is that I'm in Australia.  I was banned Saturday morning my time and I think I called Customer Service just before they closed for the weekend.  The only course of action I have is to email which won't be looked at, at best, until Tuesday my time at which point I'll be into Day 4 of my 7 day ******** suspension.

I won't take it out on the poor Customer Service rep I talk to next but I'll be escalating this in whatever damn well manner is available to me.

If you send an email to swtoraccountdisputes @bioware.com discussing in detail your issue to them then they should reply back telling you know exactly why you were suspended and if you did in fact get a false positive they can un suspend your acccount. The community service representatives on the phone do not deal with account issues that violate terms of service

That's great and all, but thus far, I've gotten 1 response from swtoraccountdisputes and it's above. They're accusing me of something I didn't do and I'm not going to take it, up to and including chargebacks on my credit card. Over the last 3 weeks I've paid somewhere in the range of $200 to this game - I'm not going to let them 7-day ban me, have that blemish on my "record" and keep that $200. If that means I lose access to my Origin account as well (and I'm well aware it will), then I'll also go ahead and get a chargeback for the last game I bought, which happened to be Star Wars Battlefront. 

I'm not an idiot and I'm not here to shell out money only to get shhhhh on. 

Apparently one of the things they initiated a lot of bans on recently was (apparently) there was a way to 'stack' the armor/other packs in the CM to only pay full price for one, and get the rest free - this is why many of them were removed while they fix the issue. If you bought anything from the CM and this happened, (once or more) it is highly likely some of the people calling false positive for bans were hit for that reason.

From what you described, I don't think you're one of the individuals who did this, most of them were hit with 30 day + bans and loss of all items etc from what I recall of one of the posts.

There was an exploit for reselling an item from vendors where you could buy them for just 1 credit and resell for more to the vendor, but if I remember right the bans for that would have already been over and done with at this point as well...

You will definitely want to try contacting CS about this in more depth if you want to keep playing even after the ban is off so you don't have that exploit on your history. I get being frustrated with this (I'd be... pissed... with the gree event going on right now if I missed out on it), but I definitely would not be willing to lose the account based on a false positive for an exploit.

Actually, the current exploit was a vendor bug similar to the chair exploit. It had nothing to do with Cartel Market items.

And the reason they removed the Bronze/Silver/Gold packs is just to push the sales of the Alliance Pack, and potentially restructure the BSG packs so that they are bought more often when they are put back in.

I'd recommend contacting the Community Managers directly on the forum, they can look into this and find out what's wrong when Customer Service won't help. Send them a PM at http://www.swtor.com/community/private.php?do=newpm&u=1632719 and http://www.swtor.com/community/private.php?do=newpm&u=11432032 and be persistent. They get tons of PMs so there's a 90% chance they will miss your PM, just keep sending the same PM every few days until they respond.

Thank you for the reply Raidell but one cannot post on the forums in any way while a suspension is in place.

The latest update on my situation is that I have received the "auto-response" email that NinjaFatBoy did stating after their "thorough investigation" my account remains suspended.  Given the conspicuous absence of any information pertaining to a dispute resolution process in that email I'm not confident I'm going to get any kind of positive outcome while my suspension is in place, if at all, however I will not be letting this go.  I may take you up on your advice Raidell, once my forum access is restored.

It took me (I counted) 4 emails, 2 calls with 1 call escalating to a manager and 2 "rejection" emails where they did their "thorough investigation" and verified that I did wrongdoing. Keep trying, keep persisting. When I spoke to the manager, I was very polite but I really expressed how upset I was because I was being accused of something that I didn't do. He seemed to take me seriously which I appreciated.

Keep at it man. Don't give up. I'm like you - I didn't want the strike on my account and I was willing to do whatever it took to either fix it or get my RL money back.
