Back after a long time - cannot log in/cannot reset password

Trying to log back in the game after a long time and I am having problems. I cannot even contact Costumer Support because I am not a Sub but I cannot get a Sub if I cannot log in.
I cannot reset password because it is asking me for the Authentication code which i cannot set up or remove because I don't have access to my account.\

Going on a circle and it is frustrating.

    Updating, in hopes this may help you. I'm not a current subscriber, but I was one 7 years ago. I emailed support anyway, even though they say it's supposed to be for subscribers only.

    After two days, I have received an automated message asking me to respond with a code to make sure that I was the one requesting assistance with my security key problem. They've made mention of their back log and delay times so I expect it will be another few days before my issue is addressed after I've replied to the email.

  • I have the exact same issue. The last time I played the game was 7 years ago, and I was a subscriber back then. But even preferred players supposedly can't contact EA support. I've sent them an email anyway, because my authenticator won't work, I can't remember my password, I need the authenticator to reset my password, and I can't make a new account with my email because one already exists. It's a clusterf*ck.

    I'm hoping (but don't have much faith) that EA will do something about this, and I hope to be able to help you if they get back to me. Last I heard the wait time for a response is supposedly 10 days. You might as well email them - the worst they can do is not respond and then you're no worse off than you were before.

  • @dimithegreat I've got another update for you, in case you're still waiting on EA to help your account. They got back to me 6 days after my response to the verification code, removed my security key, and reset my password for me. I have regained access to my account and all is well! (plus the security key bonus from the last few years)

    @LittlestWatson That's awesome man! Thank you for the update. I followed your suggestion and emailed them. I am waiting on them now to reset for me as well. Hopefully soon.
  • I stopped playing back in 2012 because of a massive mess up with many accounts getting their info deleted and or somehow cruppted and was never able to log back in because of the same proplem. I even called them over the support line and they asked me to log in right after I told them I was unable to log in. Now my security key device is 100% dead so even if I could log in now I have no key to help get in. I was also full time subscriber.

    @Kam-The-Wolf-God 

    You can try to go to swtor.com and if you remember your Display Name and Password, enter that info but leave security key blank and click login.  Then on the next screen click the link "Forgot your security key?" to go through the steps to remove the old security key.  Then you can add the mobile app security key to your account.

    If you are not able to do this or don't have your login info, you will need to email support@swtor.com with your email for your account and Display Name.  They can assist there with resetting it and removing the old security key.  Unfortunately due to covid, their phone support is currently unavailable so email is the only method to contact them.
