This problem started last night; beforehand the game worked fine.
I can login and launch the game with no problem whatsoever. However, the character selection screen is black, I can't see anything. I can hear the menu music, however.
PS: My responses won't be until later, as i have company coming over soon.
What happens if you try to lower the graphics settings? Are you playing in full screen or windowed mode? Try pressing Alt + Enter to switch between the two to see if it will pull up.
I can't lower the graphics because the entire screen is black, it's as if my monitor is off (which it isn't because the lights showing the monitor is on are on). I've tried going into windowed mode but nothing is different: black screen, music playing.
Okay, this might actually be more than just TOR because I'm having the EXACT same problem with SMITE, a game on Steam: black screen but I can hear the music.
Sounds like an issue with the graphics driver. I would try to uninstall and reinstall the driver and see if that works or try downgrading to an older version of the driver.
And how exactly does one do that? I am HORRIBLE with computers, so could you put it in simple terms?
