C7 error code

Hey,

I have been troubleshooting this problem in all sorts of ways but just cannot seem to find a solution so I am finally resorting to posting on the customer service forums about this. I have played this game for many hours on my laptop before and stopped mid 2015 but decided to start again a few days ago but I encountered the c7 error code that states that my system is not compatible. I am still using the same laptop I had played with before, but the only difference is that I have upgraded it to Windows 10. I am not sure if this is the issue, but I have looked all over the place for a solution and just cannot seem to find one.

I have uninstalled the game then reinstalled it. I installed the latest drivers for my graphics cards, checked my sound driver to make sure it is up to date, and also ran it in compatibility mode for all the other version of windows that were available.

I have attached my dxdiag along with this post. Thank you for your time and consideration.

All the best,

There has been a lot of issues with the most recent drivers and 860M cards

initially try this hotfix specific for 860Ms and see if it helps

Once you get back in game put grass to 0 for now there is a crash issue with Windows 10 TH2 update and certain Nvidia setups , for swtor putting grass to 0 seems to stop that issue.

  • Hey,

After not playing SWTOR for a while I decided to come back to the game only to encounter a c7 error code. I have played on this laptop before and the only main difference I can think of aside from my drivers being updated is that I have upgraded to windows 10. I have done some research for some kind of solution but I just keep hitting walls. So I am resorting to posting to the help page.

I have tried reinstalling the game, updating my graphics drivers, did a nvidia graphics hotfix, and ran in compatibility mode for all available versions of windows. I attached my dxdiag along with this post.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

try using DDU here to remove both Intel and NVidia drivers and do clean installs , with intel first

then ensure the game is set to run with the Nvidia card

I've actually already tried that hotfix you posted from another person's post regarding the same issue as mine and it didn't work out. Sorry for the double post, I posted a second time because when I logged on the next morning my profile didn't show that my posts have not been saved.  I am going to try the uninstaller that you sent me right now and I will get back to you on the results.

Thank you so much for your help!

Alright, so I just uninstalled the intel driver and that turned out to be the problem because I launched the game afterwards with the nvida graphics card and the game finally started up and I was able to get to the character screen. I set the game's default driver to nvidia's and am now downloading the intel driver again. I am not sure if I'm downloading the correct one but this was the result I came up with when searching up the intel graphics driver I have.
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25489/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-15-40-4th-Gen-

From my DxDiag this is what it listed as my card name:
Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
    Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
    DAC type: Internal
    Device Type: Full Device
    Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0416&SUBSYS_35011558&REV_06
    Display Memory: 4120 MB
    Dedicated Memory: 112 MB
    Shared Memory: 4008 MB
    Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

    That driver looks fine.

If any issues , maybe leave the intel driver uninstalled and just use the Nvidia driver
