Color Crystals Now Require Artifact Equipment Authorization

My guess is that they're trying to figure out, code-wise, how a bunch of things got flagged that shouldn't have.  That kind of investigation into the code can take time.

As for getting an official notice on the forums, this isn't noticeable by subscribers -- they all have artifact authorization anyway.  Since non-subscribers can't post on the official forums, it actually makes no sense whatsoever to bring it up there.

This is being investigated as a possible bug?? Great to hear and thank you. I won't go anywhere near Reddit... my skin is too thin for that place.

I never bought any lightsaber crystals from CM so I haven't seen the AA required for any crystals....yet.

I have found that all the barrels and hilts I can find on vendors to purchase require artifact authorization. I never bought AA because there wasn't that much AA in the game as I played it (my luck on loot is really bad even when I subscribe). The Level 7 "Trainee" modifiable armor for Trooper now requires AA, as does too one of the Focuses and Generators for other classes. They did not require AA last week. Barrels and Hilts from Mod vendor now say they require AA to install and so if you have never purchased AA for your account or are not a Subscriber then you are stuck with level 10 barrels and hilts and the DPS that goes with it  (unless you craft barrels and hilts and I don't).

I hope this is a bug and not intended, otherwise I'm done.

Welp, I gotta give 'em credit for trying....but this time the "replacement emails" i received were packed full of completely inferior items to what I'd lost....

I'm also having issues with Cartel Market level 10 colour crystals and the level 7 vendor trooper and bounty hunter Trainee gear requesting artifact authorisation.

The concrete crystals I have that request artifact authorisation are:

Advanced Blue Outline Indestructible Crystal

Advanced Purple Outline Hawkeye Crystal

Advanced Orange-Red Eviscerating Crystal

Advanced Blue-Cyan-Indigo Indestructible Crystal

Green Hawkeye Empeth Crystal

Advanced Sea Green Hawkeye

Advanced Black-Red Striated Hawkeye Crystal

Any of the crystals that are purple quality be they cartel market or pre-order that I could previously use as prefered status now require artifact authorization. The black and yellow pre-order crystals, the pink and purple cartel pack crystal, I think it is from the bounty pack or the outer rim pack or one of those packs, I cannot remember, and other packs crystals I am sure.

I'm having the same issue. I bought the Green Core Hawkeye Crystals a long time ago on the Cartel Market. And I found out when I logged in yesterday, that I can no longer use them. Very disappointed I can't use those characters right now, as they don't have weapons I can use.

Just get rid of Artifact Authorization from the game. It causes more harm than brings money. New players get an impression that this is pay2win feature.

Also buying Artifact Authorization is a total waste of cartel coins since all purple gear after level 53 doesn't require it.  Having it for levels 1-50 is just plain stupid since you easily outlevel your gear and content is so dumbed down that a player is fine in greens.

I hope this is indeed a bug.  I paid hundreds of thousands of credits for some mint green lightsaber crystals, and eventually spent cartel coins to unlock them in collections.  My Jedi Shadow, as well as my other characters' companions Ashara Zavros and Kira Carsen, all use the mint green crystal because I can't stand the ugly yellow tinge of the standard green crystal.  I paid real money for the Shadow of Revan expansion.  At the time, all level 51+ gear and mods were unlocked (except for the companion armor rewards for doing the Yavin weekly).  As for 4.0, that is not the case, because my Devoted Allies weapons can no longer be equipped by companions.  To make matters worse, all weapon vendors seem to have been removed from the game, leaving only the GTN and its expensive prices as a means to purchase weapons.  I was planning to take my Sith Inquisitor through Knights of the Fallen Empire eventually, but now I don't want to do that, because I used to equip Ashara with one blue lightsaber and one mint green lightsaber.

I am a preferred status player.

It looks like that much of the violett Cartel Market Equipment is now only available with Artifact Authorization (since the Patch...). It doesn't matter if it is a Crystal, Armor, Weapons, or something else. One of my Jedi is wearing the "Robe des Reisenden", with no violett Equipment, but the Armor itself says: Artifact Authorization required. By the way: all my Characters are using violet Crystals in their Light Sabers, Blasters, Shield-Generators and so on. None of them is actually on full Power and Strength. Are the violet Color Packs still working? Status "Prefered Player". Thanks for Info.

PS: heard from a Friend, that he bought Artifact Authorization on the Cartel Market. But the Equipment is still not usable. Sorry, but I can't verify this. And I will not try. It would not be funny to spend 1200 Cartel Coins for nothing, if it's true...
