Connection error

This just started yesterday. I can not log into the game. I go through the normal login procedure of entering my password, and then a security code. The launcher starts up ok and then it starts up the game itself and I get to the point where I usually see my character screen but instead goes to the server select screen. When I select my server it pops up a window saying there is a connection error and to contact support. Can you help a brother out here please?

That is highly unusual that after an OS upgrade still has an issue , legacy settings somehow ?

Open a command prompt as administrator and try the following commands separately pressing enter after each one

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh advfirewall reset

edit can add just in case

    ipconfig /flushdns

This is killing me man. None of those worked at all. Yes I restarted after I did all 3 too.

Checked for viruses (used Malmwarebytes), none found. Turned off Firewall and Virus Protection, no help. Turned those 2 back on. Even tried reinstalling the game (for the third time), after uninstall with Revo Uninstaller and restart.

Found this in the client log from the latest attempt:

    2025-04-11T22:47:17.695436 3a94 WARNING HandleLaunchFailure with error type 1003 : LOGIN_ERROR_FAILED_CONNECT_TO_LOGIN_SERVER Connect.firestorm.client.OmegaClientApp
2025-04-11T22:47:17.697482 3a94 ERROR Failed to initiate login sequence [Connect.firestorm.client.ConnectionObject](connectionobject.cpp:ConnectionObject::beginConnection:153)
2025-04-11T22:47:17.697482 3a94 DEBUG Disconnect invoked with error code WPEC_NO_ERROR [Disconnect.firestorm.client.OmegaClientApp](omegaclientapp.cpp:OmegaClientApp::Disconnect:177)
    2025-04-11T22:47:17.697482 3a94 DEBUG setDesiredConnection [CS_SHARD_DISCONNECTING] in current state [CS_FAILED] [Connect.firestorm.client.ConnectionObject](connectionobject.cpp:ConnectionObject::setDesiredConnection:70)

I have no idea what it means but it clearly shows the failed login attempt. Again I have to thank you for your time here. Hopefully we are getting closer to fixing this.

just a point of note, turning off the antivirus for example doesn't mean its actually disabled, the only 2 ways to know its not 100% interfering is to either uninstall it totally or end task in task manager on all related processes

Have you done a steam install and see if it has the same issue ?

Also if it is windows defender, i have seen that having private and public ticked in the game exception has helped some others with connection issues

Well I tried Win Defender Firewall exceptions for both the Launcher and the exe file were set to both private and public. No help, still get the error.

Then I tried to completely turn off Both Win11 anti virus and firewall. Then restart, and again no help, still the error.

Then I made sure my exclusions for the antivirus were set properly, still no help.

I have NOT tried to install from Steam yet, but I will and report back.

I just don't get it. What would cause just 1 PC to do this. Eliminated all the usual suspects and still the error. And what changes did I make to my PC that would cause this to happen out of the blue like this? I have been playing Swtor for the last 3 months straight with no problems, then all of a sudden, BAM, I start getting this error and can't login. Only to have it work on another PC that is connected to the same network. Truly amazing.

You aren't going to believe this. I installed the game from Steam and it actually worked. THEN I tried it from the normal install and it WORKED. Sheesh I just spent a week trying to fix this problem and that was all it took? Man sometimes these things are so frustrating.

Anyways big shout out to Proxos666. Thanks for sticking with me on this and coming up with the solution to it. I really appreciate your help. Thanks!
