EA's Greed With SWTOR

Ok so i know i'm going to get a lot of toxic replies for this but what is with your absurd greed with this great game? First off there's the credit cap even as an preferred its moronic and then you have the finest of ea's legendary greed...Requiring an Subscription to get Support, i mean seriously? That is utterly pathetic, that's literally like giving your players an middle finger and telling them to f off, go get help from players but needing to pay to get support from CST

The credit cap has multiple uses such as limiting credits sellers and to encourage subscription.  I know of a couple players who if there was no credit cap would not subscribe if F2P / Preferred had no credit cap.  I even see it on the official forums where players have said that would be the case.

In regards to support for the game, there are support options for both F2P/Preferred and Subscribers.  Calling customer service over the phone is available to all players regardless of subscription status.  Both F2P/Preferred and Subscribers can call for support.

In regards to in-game support that is where there is differences.  Subscribers can create an in-game ticket while F2P/Preferred cannot but if your not a subscriber, you can email support@swtor.com for assistance as well for in-game support regardless of subscription status.  You just need to provide more details like Display Name, Character Name, Server, Email on account, etc.

  • They need to offer an way to earn subscription time in game similar to how you can via Eve Online, that way for us who is unemployed to earn it, especially if you are like me who are going to start streaming the game

  • F2P is a demo mode, that allows you to see if you like the game.

From there, you can subscribe, unlocking all services, removing currency cap, etc. all at once

    OR

Purchase only those unlocks that interest you through the Cartel Shop

    OR

Play as you like within the F2P limitations.

Considering that, at launch, subscription was not optional (although purchasing the game awarded game time), that's actually pretty generous. You choose how much, if anything, you care to spend, what you unlock, etc.
